A year ago today I started this little blog. I had been reading some blogs I found on Pinterest for awhile and really enjoyed it. I thought, what a great idea! You can blog about your life then you have somewhat of a journal to look back on. Plus, I would see people commenting on those blogs. Leaving inspirational messages, encouragement, funny little lines. I wanted to connect with people too! I might not have 100’s of followers or be famous in blog land or make money from this blog, but I have connected with some amazing people and I am truly grateful for that.
I started this blog on a whim hoping it might be a little fun to document my life happenings, and it has turned into my favorite hobby. What better of a time to really invest in my blog and have my own domain and host my own site. The changeover is a present to myself for sticking with a hobby, faithfully, for a year! I even have my own email address associated with my domain all thanks to my wonderful husband!
Looking back over the last year, while learning some of the ins and outs of blogging, I have decided that blog land is an incredible place! People that you don’t even know are pouring their hearts out on the interweb for the whole world to see. Sharing their daily lives, admitting their struggles, their weaknesses, their fears. Sharing their weight loss journeys, their fitness woes, their marriage, their kids. It is quite amazing. Those that are not inside our world could never understand some of the goings on that we encounter on the daily. We get to interact with people every day that we probably would have never met had we not been blogging. And when you think about it, we are all a little weird, aren’t we? Maybe that is what draws us all to each other.
I have gained great connections with people, new recipes to try, make up tips, outfit envy, and an appreciation for things I might not have given a try had I not read it somewhere on someones blog. So thank you blog land for giving me a hobby. Somewhere to show up and talk and listen. Thanks for sticking around for the last year, and cheers to another!

Happy happy anniversary! I totally agree with you on the fun side of it – getting to see a little piece of how different people live and the connections you make are my favorite part! The best thing I have gained is friendships, both in person and via twitter/email/etc since I started doing this and thinking of those is what makes the whole hobby worth it, even on days I have nothing to say!
Happy anniversary! And congrats for successfully transitioning to WP! I started my blog for the same reason as you, back in May. Like you, I stumbled upon so many through Pinterest. What I love about blogging is that it can be my creative outlet. I’m trying to channel creativity in more ways than just domestic or crafty things. Plus, I learn from every blogger. I don’t have tons of followers or commenters, but it’s the best feeling when someone DOES comment. I love that us ladies have blogs for personal outlets, and a special community for us all to share.
P.S. I love every one of those ecards!! So true!
Happy blogiversary! I’m glad we connected through this hobby.

I’m just so happy that we met through this crazy world known as blogland. And that I’ve gotten to meet you in person! I still miss Ashley Mac’s and crave their chicken salad! Ha! Happy One Year!
I think this is awesome! Happy blogoversary!!! You’ve come a long way in a year; time to celebrate!
Congratulations! I hope your transition went smoothly. I’ve only had my current blog for a little less than two months and I already feel obsessed. Transitioning to a self-hosted site sounds like a great gift to give yourself on your blogiversary. Did you find the transition to be an easy process?
Happy Blogoversary!!
Happy Blogiversary! Wow, I think you really summed it up. I love that we’re creating journals for ourselves… but also all the new friends and connections we make in the blog community. For example I’m so happy I’ve found YOUR blog and am excited to continue to follow along with you 🙂
I’m really enjoying the design and layout of your website.
It’s a very easy on the eyes which makes it much
more enjoyable for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a developer to create
your theme? Excellent work!
