Book day!!! I am having a hard time believing I only read two books this month. I am in the middle of an audiobook and a physical book right now, but two finished doesn’t seem accurate? Serves me right, not having this post going as the month went on like I usually do. It is really hard to remember what all you read over the last month, time blends together!
Anyways, I am babbling. Linking up with Steph and Jana. (Happy belated Birthday, Jana!!!) Both book were wonderful, so excuse me while I gush for a minute.
The Bookshop on the Corner by Jenny Colgan
First of all, you have to read the introduction! It makes me want to be besties with the author! I absolutely loved this book. And some of the quotes are so fantastic! I have to share two of my favorites…
“Just do something. You might make a mistake, then you can fix it. But if you do nothing, you can’t fix anything. And your life might turn out full of regrets.”
“Because life is like that, isn’t it? If you thought of all the tiny things that divert your path one way or another, some good, some bad, you’d never do anything ever again. And some people don’t. Some people go through life not really deciding to do much, not wanting to, always too fearful of the consequences to try something new. Of course, that in itself is also a decision.”
I immediately found myself cheering for Nina, and can totally relate to her situations in some ways, having lost my job last year. I wish I had her confidence to push forward with a dream. There were so many great characters in this book, and you feel like you are experiencing everything with Nina.
Bottom Line: Read it!!! If for no other reason, but because you are a book lover and so is Nina and all the booksish things about the book are awesome! I absolutely adored this one.
Coldhearted Boss by R.S. Grey
I do love a good R.S. Grey book, and this has been my favorite of the last few I have read. Misunderstandings, family drama, mean boss, saucy girl, sexual tension, hot construction workers, small town feel, I mean this book has it all! This was a slow, slow burn romance and had me LOL’ing multiple times.
Bottom Line: If you like romantic comedies, read it!
**Thanks R.S. Grey for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.**

The Bookshop on the Corner it is. I am having a hard time reading as much lately so its got to be a goodie. Have a great day!!
Coldhearted Boss is on my Kindle waiting for me 🙂 I can’t wait! I only read one book this month (and I finished it last night)- YIKES. I usually can get 3 or 4 done in a month. Sigh. I think it was a rough reading month for lots of people!
I have wanted to read things you save in a fire so bad – you’ll have to let me know what you think! Also I want to read Bookshop too! At least the two you remember reading were awesome, right?
Some great ones to add to my list! Some months it’s so hard to get reading done.
I am adding these to my ever growing list!
Ooh The Bookshop on the Corner sounds really good. I love books that are about libraries, books, or bookstores. If it wasn’t for Goodreads, I would forget what I read in a month too. haha

Thank you for the recommendations!!!
The Bookshop on the Corner seems to be read by everyone.
I love any book that involves books – #inception
I definitely want to read The Bookshop on the Corner!
I convinced my new book club to read Bookshop on the Corner! It’ll be a reread for me and I’m excited to read it again. I love everything she’s written.
Thank you!
I need to get to that Katherine Center book. I have an ARC of it so I really have no excuse.
Bookshop has been on my TBR for some time and I keep meaning to read it but you know. But those quotes really struck a chord with me and I am determined to get to it this summer!
I could not get into The Bookshop.
Fire has been sitting on my kindle for over three months. I almost started it last night but went with a book that has a fucked up timeline instead and I am trying to keep up.
i hope you like things you save in a fire! i’ve read two jenny colgan books, they are cute. i own that bookshop one, haven’t read it yet. i was unsure about the new rs grey book but i’ve heard such good things, so i will give it a go soon!
The Bookshop on the Corner sounds like exactly the kind of book I will love!
I am waiting for Things You Save In A Fire!
I read an R.S. Grey a few months ago and it was fine. Then I DNF’d Make Me Bad last week because I didn’t like it (obviously), but won’t go into the reasons. What is the BEST one? I keep reading reviews and hearing mixed reviews?
Who doesn’t love a book about books? I loved Things You Save in a Fire. Happy reading!
I’ll definitely pick up the new RS grey at some point – glad it was good! I’ve heard many good things. I looooved Things you Save in a Fire so I hope you do too!! And if you want to talk about the ending or any of it JUST EMAIL ME! 😉
The Bookshop on the Corner has been on my TBR for a while, but until your post I didn’t realize that it’s the same author as the Little Beach Street Bakery series– I read a Christmas one last year & it was so cute!
I only read two books last month too. But I am working on two more right now. I will add these to my list!
Yes yes yes! I loved Coldhearted Boss, also my favorite in a while! SO GOOD! I didn’t like The Bookshop on the Corner as much as I’d hoped to. I think I felt weird about the conductor guy… LOL XO – Alexandra
