Christmas Wish List

I don’t want to talk about the amount of time it took me to get a shitty looking collage with cut off pictures going for this wish list. Or how many times I had to try to upload it because it wouldn’t go through. Technology is not my friend most days. What do you all use for your product collages? I know polyvore is out there, but they don’t always have the items I want.

Anyways, I always share a Christmas Wish List each year on the blog. You never know when Santa is going to have time to read it!

Small Christmas Wish List

–There are so many gorgeous purses our there right now! I love this one (in pastel pink) and this one (in dusty rose).

–A new cell phone case like this or this.

–Cute nude flats.

–I have been wanting to try the Fresh Sugar Lip stuff forever!!!

–This Too Faced palette is gorgeous!!

–A blanket scarf.

–Stacked apothecary jar for my bracelets and small jewelry.

–My skin has been awful this past year and I really want to get the Luna to see if it would make a difference!

Reading: I started Inconceivable this week. I am only a chapter in, so it is hard to say if I am going to like it or not. It is supposed to be a Cinderella type story. I have a feeling it is going to be disappointing, but maybe not!

Watching:We have been watching season 5 of Friends this week since most of our shows are starting to break for the holidays.

Listening: I started listening to The Hypnotist’s Love Story on Audible Monday night. I am loving it!! Just like every other Liane Moriarty book that I have read.

Thinking: About what to get my mom for Christmas. She is so easy to buy for because she loves everything. But that also makes it hard because I have so many ideas, I don’t know which one to go for!!! What are you getting your mom for Christmas?

Working on:I have a few posts in the works for mine and Laura’s Besties do Bham blog. I just need to bust them out!

Changing: My eating habits! I have been bad the last few weeks guys. Bad. Bad. Bad. I have had burgers and fries two days in a row, ate all the things for Thanksgiving, had candy nearly every day. Got to get back to being good most of the time with just a few treats in between. Sugar is the first thing to go. Peace out you addicting devil!

Working Out: Started Julian Michael’s 30 Day Shred again. I like to go back to this work out once or twice a year when I want a restart. I will be combining that with my running.

Drinking: Simply Balanced Organic Herbal Tropical Hibiscus Tea from Target. Do yourself a flavor and get on this! I am on my second box and I can’t stop won’t stop.

Sending: Christmas cards! I started addressing them last night. I need to get stamps. Hopefully there are cute Christmas ones left at the post office!

Excited: Lunch with Laura today! We made a vow to meet up more often, and well we have stuck to it.

A Story Behind the Picture – Our First Christmas

Today I wanted to link up with sweet Elle for a Story Behind the Picture!

1

This picture was taken in November of 2010. We had just moved in together a few months back and were putting together our first Christmas tree as a couple.

Christmas Day 2010-We were taking pictures at my dad’s house and Chris kept making funny faces when I would take the picture…

So I thought I would make a funny face too, except he didn’t…

6

We finally got our shit together to take a normal photo…

When we went over to my mom’s house we had taken some pictures in the snow. When we tried to take a selfie, Chris decided to photobomb with a snowball to my face. You can see it coming to the left!

9

Hilarious, that one…you can see his evil grin and everything! Hahahaha

I will never forget our first Christmas together because we had two new nephews (both his sister and my sister had babies a month apart!) and it snowed on Christmas! Something that is so very rare here in Alabama. Christmas is our favorite season and it is such a special time of year. I will forever cherish these photos and I look back at them every year around this time and just smile. He is still making me laugh.

Thanks Elle for hosting this wonderful link up! I hope you do it again next month because I already have some pictures picked out for it!!! Spoiler alert, they are from Christmas pasts as well!

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

A picture is worth a thousand words. Ain’t that the truth?!?! There are so many times I will flip through my photo albums or scroll through my Facebook pictures from many moons ago and smile when I remember what was going on when the picture was taken. Elle had a brilliant idea for her link up today to share some of those memories. Do you follow Elle? The girl knows her beauty products and she is just so sweet!! You can read about the link up here.

Engagement

This first picture is very special to me, probably my favorite to date. It was taken at Stone Mountain Park in Stone Mountain, Georgia. This was right after Chris had started talking about how special Stone Mountain is to him. About how is family had been coming there for years to visit and how he knew mine loved to go there too. Then he started talking about setting things in stone and he said speaking of stones…..and pulled out an engagement ring and proposed to me!!!!

wedding

This looks like a sweet wedding picture, right? Well it is, but do you want to know the real reason we are laughing? We had to get in the car to change locations and I decided to check the score of the Alabama vs Texas A&M game and realized we were losing. We got out of the car and told our photographer friends to hurry up, we had a game to catch!

350Z

We had Adam take a picture of Chris’s 350Z on our wedding day because it was so pretty sitting there by the water. A month later, we traded this car in for his G37. I will never forget the day that this pretty blue car pulled in to the parking deck at 660 in Atlanta and Chris stepped out of his car and I saw him for the first time in person. That was the first day of the rest of my life.

This picture of Laura and I was taken at World of Beer when we were watching the Alabama game. If you look closely, you will see Laura wearing Auburn’s colors. We may not agree on which football team we want to win, but we can still watch a game together and be friends!! I am surprised my Houndstooth necklace didn’t burn her skin 🙂

Chris and I are actually sitting on a Christmas parade float in this picture. Chris was responsible for mixing the Christmas music that would play when the Frozen girls weren’t singing Let it Go on our float. What you don’t know is that Chris agonized over this project for weeks. People he worked with kept changing their mind about what they wanted and he had to listen to Let it Go about 500 times in the span of a few weeks. We still haven’t sat down to watch Frozen because he simply can’t handle hearing Let it Go anymore.

Dog Outtakes

Getting these two to pose for a picture is damn near impossible. Just a sampling of their outtakes.

Nadine

My blog picture was actually taken at Birmingham Botanical Gardens by Laura. Her and I were there to do a photo shoot for a book that we are being featured in and we decided to take some pictures around the gardens for our blogs. No shame in our double dipping game!

Interview Outfit

This might look like just another outfit shot but actually, this was the day that I interviewed for my current job. I had taken a picture of my outfit and texted it to my mom for approval. I got the job, so I guess I did alright!

Nadine and Tracy

Right before my sister and I took this picture, my mom was getting ready to leave and she said “Wait, we have to selfie!!!” My sister and I could NOT stop laughing. It was just so funny to hear her say selfie.

Throw Back Memory

FullSizeRender (4)

If you didn’t know anything about this picture, it just looks like my sister, dad and I are outside playing in the rain. And well, we were. But this picture was taken in front of my grandmother’s house on the day of her funeral. I remember sitting inside looking out the window with my sister. We were so sad and my dad came in the room and said, hey….why don’t we go outside and dance in the rain! No shoes allowed! It was the first time we had smiled all week.

I was only 15 at the time, but I just remember it feeling so symbolic to me. Anytime there was a thunder storm when I was younger, my grandmother used to say that it was just people in heaven bowling. If there was lightening, she would say that someone got a strike! Every time it rains, I think about this picture. I think about how freeing it was to just be outside in the rain. And anytime I hear thunder, I like to think that my Grandma Jerry is up there bowling with my Grandpa Carl and having a great time.

Reading: I started Then You Were Gone this week but to be honest…I am having a hard time getting in to it. I think Before We Were Strangers was so good I am having a hard time moving on. I hate when that happens!

Listening: Yesterday I started listening to The Boy Who Dared on audiobook. Jury is still out on my thoughts with this one. It takes place during WWII and I am starting to identify with the young boy the story is based on.

Watching: We are still trying to get in to Once Upon a Time. I am enjoying it but I get confused on what is going on sometimes. It does make me wanted to look in to the fairy tale books though like Cinder. Thoughts on those??

Lusting: All of the fall things!!! Mainly booties, like these ones from Target.

Women's Delaney Western Boots

Or these from Nordstrom

Or something super fun like these

Pinning: How to wear boots! There are so many great ways to pair them.

20 ways to wear boots - there are not enough days in the year for the number of boots I would like to own! LOVE the riding boots in this post.

Eating: All of the healthy things, with the exception of tonight. We have had salad for dinner two nights this week and pork chops on Monday. For lunches I have had greek quinoa salad, edamame and nectarines. A shit ton of water and tea too!

Thinking:

It it scares you, it might be a good thing to try.

Enjoying: Daily chats with my mom. Every two weeks she works days for two weeks and I get to call her on my way home from work. I enjoy that so much!!!! Sometimes we talk about whats going on in our lives, sometimes we reminisce about when we were younger and sometimes we talk about a TV show we are in to. Every single one of those conversations is much needed! Moms are the best, you know??

Throwing Back: To when Mac was a little puppy!!! He turned 5 on the 10th and I was a bad puppy mom and totally let that slip by. One of my friends has a birthday that same day and I just knew there was someone else I was missing!!!

Mac’s first contact with Gracie:

Gracie looks amused here, right?

Happy Birthday Mac!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excited: For a drink with Laura!!! It has been far too long since I have seen her beautiful face.

Happy Friday Eve!!!!!
