Kathy and I decided to not host the confessions linkup anymore. There weren’t many people who were still linking up and my InLinkz account expired so it seemed like a good time. I will still post confessions posts from time to time, because usually they are sort of snarky snippets of my life or what I am thinking and feeling.

–Chris and I were watching the latest episode of Grimm on Saturday night. It was really good but then we were like…hey wait…is this the end end?!?! Turns out it was. It makes me so sad because we just loved that show!!! I am still depressed about it. Any other Grimm watchers out there?

–It is really hard to fit in workouts working a full time job, a side gig and being a mom to an infant. Really hard. There have been a few days where I put Zoe in her high chair and stick a toy there for her and workout in front of her. I think she thinks it is some kind of game where mommy acts like a crazy fool. She smiles and giggles at me and I am not sure whether to take offense or not. I am over here trying to workout, what is so damn funny??? I am certain I look ridiculous, so I cant blame her.

–So this is the current weather situation here in the south. If you aren’t familiar with tornado season, you don’t really want to be in the orange and you sure as hell don’t want to be in the red or pink. So basically you can find me hunkered down with my helmet and Zoe in her car seat. I legit went to Walmart to get a helmet yesterday. I wasn’t the only one in that aisle. We take this weather serious down here. Especially after April 27, 2011.

So if you live down here in the south with me, stay safe! Know you safe place, grab a helmet and a whistle or air horn if you need help and don’t go outside to film the damn thing. Your life isn’t worth a viral post on Facebook.

–My laziness is winning out over food some days. I will be hungry and want something to snack on, but since I had been on Whole 30 all month it eliminates all the easy to grab processed foods. Because I have to actually prepare a snack, I end up just skipping it all together. I mean, you can only eat so many nuts and everything else requires prepping. You would think this would aid in weight loss, but not so much I don’t think.

–There is nothing more unnerving as a new parent than when you wake up and realize that you actually had some REM sleep cycles and you start panicking and freaking out and run to your kid to make sure they are still breathing.

–I really really want a glass of wine.

–Speaking of wine, we live a good 20 minutes away from any grocery store. We do have a Dollar General about five minutes outside of our neighborhood though. Chris and his friend went there to grab a few things one Saturday and they came back with a bottle of $3.50 wine. I sort of laughed because the bottle said “Spring Creek Sweet Red.” But I was desperate (this was before Whole 30) and had a glass. You guys, it was really damn good wine. I think I drank half the bottle by myself. Don’t knock the Dollar General wine until you have tried it!

–I watched the entire Gilmore Girls series while off. I really enjoyed it. I had only caught a few episodes here and there when it originally aired, so it was great seeing it all. Then I watched the revival. I was super disappointed in Rory. Anyone else? Stop reading here if you haven’t watched it because I am going to say a spoiler. I mean, it is realistic that just because you went to a really good college doesn’t mean you are going to have your life together. But sleeping with Logan when he is engaged and just sort of bouncing around in life without any direction or morals? Sort of turned me completely off from her character. Loved Lorelei though!!!

–I was kind of glad to take down the Christmas decor this year. It takes up so much space in our living room, and the tree makes such a mess on the floors. I like having my order back! Though it is so sad Christmas has come and gone!

–I went to Target on Monday and only walked down the aisles where I needed things from my list. This might be a new record for me. Chris walking around the video game aisle doesn’t count against me right? LOL

–I had creamer in my coffee yesterday morning even though I knew I started Whole 30. I was too tired to care that it was an infraction when I made it. Perhaps I started it on lunch yesterday and therefore will carry it through lunch past the last day.

–I kept a poinsettia alive from November until this week. That was with having a newborn and basically forgetting it existed for a few days. And it sat here for about five days alone with no care while we were in the hospital. Maybe I can handle a few indoor plants this year? You know, the ones I have said I was going to get for the last year and a half. I mean, if I can keep a dog and baby alive…a few plants should be nothing right?!

–My housekeeping skills have seriously diminished since having a baby. When I finally get a little bit of down time, I wash bottles, empty out the diaper genie, change laundry from washer to dryer, stuff my face with whatever I can find that is convenient…and then baby is up and ready to eat again. Sorry bathroom floor. Oh and dusting? LOL!!!! Yeah, so hasn’t happened in a month. I am cringing as I type this. Yeah…..I am going to go dust now….
