Reading: No One Knows – I just started reading this one yesterday and I am enjoying it so far!! When I got it on Netgalley is said readers of Gillian Flynn and Liane Moriarty would like this book. Interesting they put both of them together, but I guess because this book is supposed to have some twists in it. I just hope I can finish it for the book link up next week. I see a weekend full of reading in my future!!!
I like pretty covers, what can I say?
Listening: Podcasts! I have another week before my next credit is available on Audible so I am catching up on Being Boss, Birmingham Shines, The Paleo Women and The Armchair Librarians with Steph and Jana!!!
Watching: Catching up on all of our shows this week, Scandal, Grey’s, the Chicago shows, Law and Order SVU, Big Bang Theory, The Good Wife, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Modern Family and Blindspot. Also sneaking episodes of Fixer Upper when Chris isn’t around. So to sum it up, too much TV!
Pinning: What am I not pinning??? I haven’t really baked anything real in forever. How amazing do these brown sugar salter caramel cookies look???
Excited: About my dinner date tonight with Laura to check out a new restaurant! If you like to eat, Birmingham should be on your destination bucket list!!! We have so many amazing restaurants here.
Linking up with Kristen and Gretch, duh! Happy Thursday!
Reading: Zeke. After being broken by Me Before You and spending a month trying to get through The Forgotten Room, I need something light and quick. This is working perfect for that! You will read my thoughts on all of these books next Tuesday for the Show Us Your Books link up! YAY!!!
Listening to: Birmingham Shines and Call Your Girlfriend Podcasts. I had been listening to an audiobook for a few weeks, so it was time to get caught up on my podcasts. I don’t listen to all the CYG episodes because some are a bit ridiculous but this one is about bestiepreneurs and my goal one day is for my bestie and I to run a business so it is very inspiring!
Also listening to this song on a million times repeat, thanks to Joey!
Watching: We watched Scandal, SVU and PLL so far this week. Chris and I joke every time we sit down to watch PLL. Last night he said, “Are you ready to waste 42 minutes of your life?” I always remain hopeful, “Maybe it will be good?” Chris, “Well if I am going to waste 42 minutes of my life, I am glad it is with you.” Awwww.
Working On: So many things!!! I made a mess of mine and Laura’s food blog last weekend when I tried to install a new theme. I need the help of a serious IT person. Thank goodness I am married to one! I am going to proposition some beers or his favorite meal for his expertise.
I also have been working on fixing up and organizing certain areas of our house. I took a break from this last weekend but hope to pick back up.
Researching the shit out of a IIFYM and a few other things.
Pinning: All of the things! But mostly recipes. I can’t tell you how many new things I have made in the last two months! At least a few new recipes every week! And most of them have been winners. Like this Butter Chicken I made in the crockpot yesterday. And friends, this is Paleo, Gluten Free and Whole 30 approved! I made it with my carrot fries, duh.
Excited: For Friday lunch club! Not sure where we are going this week, but it is always a good time. Also, the weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful!
Thankful: For amazing friends. Ones that know how to make you laugh or just let you vent about your day or what’s on your mind. Ones that just know how to lift you up and give you a compliment that you didn’t even know you needed. I know without a doubt that certain people were brought in to my life for a reason, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that!!!
Thinking About: All the people just a little south of Birmingham that were surprised by an EF2 tornado that came ripping through the area Tuesday night when we were all trying to get home from work. I had just got my stuff together to leave and the tornado sirens started up. Scary shit!!! All I could think was, I don’t want to die at work!!! I also felt loved because Chris and my sister called at the exact same time to check on me, and Laura texted me shortly after that to make sure I was ok. Could you imagine those that were in their cars when it happened? Yikes!!!
Linking up with Kristen and Gretchen for What’s New With You and Joey and Kristin for Stuff and Things!! I hope you all have a fabulous Friday Eve!!!
When one of your blogging besties starts a new link up….you link up!!!
One thing that you have to learn when you move to another area of the country, is the terminology and lingo. Here in the deep south, instead of people asking “What’s new with you” they ask “What you no good?”
Currently I am…
Reading: Taste: A Love Story – I am about 30% done with this book and I would really like to finish it for the link up next Tuesday.
Listening: Last Anniversary by Liane Moriarty – It’s my last read from her. I am going to need her to write something else!!! Also, I started listening to Stiff but I am waiting until I finish Last Anniversary to really dive in. It is too interesting and I need to be able to have more focus!
Itching: For a new blog design! I started looking at new designs to redo Besties do Bham because the one we chose isn’t formatting too great. Well upon finding ones I like for it….I found ones I like for here too. It has been about a year….year and a half…I think it is time for a change.
Working On: Getting caught up on blogging. I have been quite busy this week, so if I haven’t stopped by and commented…I will soon!
A few of you asked what my favorite recipes were on Whole 30 and what I snacked on, so I am thinking about doing one post and just sharing a bunch of recipe links and snacks. Would you all like that?
Been doing research on various things. How to take some ideas I have and bring them to fruition. Different diets and how they help your body. Plants. Natural medicines. I have a curious mind, what can I say?
Snacking: Speaking of snacks, I cant stop with the Target Archer Farms Sea Salt Pistachios. Amazing!
Organizing: Our pantry is a disaster. I want some type of back of the door baskets for all those pesky food wrap/storage bag boxes that fall on me all the time!
Planning: Spring will be here before you know it!!! I really want to start a garden this year so it is time to start planning what we want and when it is going to need to get planted. Time to call in my sister!
Excited:For my lunch today with Laura!!! I haven’t seen her since two days before Christmas. Whole 30 had us eating lunch at the office a lot more and not wanting to try new places since all we could eat was lettuce and water.
Reading: I started The Things We Keep this week and I am very intrigued so far.
Listening: Food: A Love Story on audiobook. I was cracking up on the way home last night! Probably not the best thing to listen to while doing Whole 30 with Gaffigan talking about cheeseburgers and cheesecakes and everything else I cant eat.
Watching: We finished the very last episode of Friends last night. It was just as sad this time around as the first time to say goodbye! Also, what is up with PLL. Can someone please explain to me why we have reverted back to the story line of the first season all over again?! Is this just PLL 2.0? Is it going to be another 5 years before we find out who A really is? Why did Ezra look so creepy? Why can’t I have Hannah’s hair? What is wrong with Emily? So many questions. I just keep waiting for an A text to set it all off again.
Eating: Everything Whole 30! I have tried so many new recipes over the last three weeks and basically all of them have been winners in our house except for one that Chris didn’t like. My favorite so far is probably this chili and these sweet potato nachos!
Planning: What I am going to do after Whole 30. I am thinking about dropping down to Paleo with maybe one cheat per week. But that will be after I start slowly reintroducing foods to see how my body reacts to them and pinpoint any issues I may have.
Pondering: I need to get my hair cut/colored next month. It is starting to get long and stringy again. Oh thin hair woes! I am thinking about doing a long bob and going darker. What do you think?
Something like this cut….
with this color….
Inspired:
Confused: Alabama weather! We have a chance of strong to severe storms tonight but then it is going to snow here tomorrow night. WTF Alabama?! Go home mother nature, you’re drunk! I don’t know why this comes as a surprise, every year there is at least one or two weeks where we have all four seasons in matter of just a few days.
Excited: To see my nephew play basketball! This is is second year and he is one of the better players on the team. So proud of him!
Reading: I started Inconceivable this week. I am only a chapter in, so it is hard to say if I am going to like it or not. It is supposed to be a Cinderella type story. I have a feeling it is going to be disappointing, but maybe not!
Watching:We have been watching season 5 of Friends this week since most of our shows are starting to break for the holidays.
Listening: I started listening to The Hypnotist’s Love Story on Audible Monday night. I am loving it!! Just like every other Liane Moriarty book that I have read.
Thinking: About what to get my mom for Christmas. She is so easy to buy for because she loves everything. But that also makes it hard because I have so many ideas, I don’t know which one to go for!!! What are you getting your mom for Christmas?
Working on:I have a few posts in the works for mine and Laura’s Besties do Bham blog. I just need to bust them out!
Changing: My eating habits! I have been bad the last few weeks guys. Bad. Bad. Bad. I have had burgers and fries two days in a row, ate all the things for Thanksgiving, had candy nearly every day. Got to get back to being good most of the time with just a few treats in between. Sugar is the first thing to go. Peace out you addicting devil!
Working Out: Started Julian Michael’s 30 Day Shred again. I like to go back to this work out once or twice a year when I want a restart. I will be combining that with my running.
Drinking: Simply Balanced Organic Herbal Tropical Hibiscus Tea from Target. Do yourself a flavor and get on this! I am on my second box and I can’t stop won’t stop.
Sending: Christmas cards! I started addressing them last night. I need to get stamps. Hopefully there are cute Christmas ones left at the post office!
Excited: Lunch with Laura today! We made a vow to meet up more often, and well we have stuck to it.
