Favorite Song: Another good one I found while watching The Vampire Diaries! Blossom by Noah Gundersen. It is a super chill song. Sort of reminds me of Matt Nathanson or The Fray, give it a listen.

Favorite Recipe: Laura shared some recipes that she is doing for Whole 30 in her post on Tuesday. I can’t wait to try this chili! Bonus points for being a crock pot recipe.

Favorite Workout: I have been switching it up like crazy this week and I stumbled across the 30 Day Fat Burn workouts. They are usually between 10-15 minutes so I pick a few each day for a well balanced sweat. This was my favorite. I work out my arms a lot, at least twice a week and damn did I feel the burn on this one!

Favorite Home Products: I have switched three of my main home product purchases for more natural options. These have all been repurchased now so I thought it would be a good time to share with you because they are totally worth it! They are all available at Target and the Meyer Clean Day products are 5% off with Cartwheel! (I am not being paid to say that, I just like to save money!)

Meyer’s Clean Day Dish Soap – I have the basil scent in this and I love it! Basil sounded a little weird to me, but trust me.

Meyer’s Dryer Sheets – I grabbed the lavender ones of these and OMG they smell amazing!!! You can walk past our laundry area and smell them just sitting in the box. Chris and I both have sensitive skin and this is the only scented thing I have found that hasn’t driven either of us crazy. Did you know that conventional dryer sheets are one of the most toxic things in your house?

The Honest Company Laundry Detergent – I have unscented and I think that is the only kind you can get? Either way, this stuff has been amazing and I will never go back to Tide. This is HE safe and great for sensitive skin and allergies.

Favorite Lust:I want to get a piece of furniture for our master bath to put my make up and jewelry on to stay more organized.I know that sometimes TJ Maxx and those types of stores have some cute ones for $200 or less so I might have to keep an eye out there as well. Which style do you like best? The first and last one really aren’t priced that terrible for a piece of furniture. The middle one would be too big, but I like the idea of all different colored drawers/doors.

Fall in Full Swing

I have seen several people do the fall favorites post, but when Andrea posted it yesterday and said that she wanted to see her blog friends answer the questions I figured why not?!

Favorite thing about Autumn? The question should be what is there not to love about Autumn? The answer would be nothing. Except maybe ragweed. I could do without the ragweed. I love the weather, the leaves, the scented candles, smores, football, salted caramel mocha fraps, sweaters, boots, Hocus Pocus, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, the sales, the crispness in the mornings, just everything!!!!!!!

Also, I have discovered that the summer heat and humidity has really been holding me back in my running, this morning I freaking rocked my run and am looking forward to PR’ing the shit out of them now that I am not dying of heat.

Favorite Autumn drink? Salted caramel mocha fraps, apple cider,  Boulevard’s Funky Pumpkin beer, Traveler’s Jack-o-Traveler shandy.

Favorite Autumn candle? Leaves or pumpkin anything. Marshmallow Fireside is my all time favorite and I burn it year round, fall included!

Favorite Autumn snack? Pumpkin scones and apples

Favorite Sweet Treat? Reese pumpkins

Favorite Soup? Chili!!!!

Favorite Autumn lipstick? Ravish Raspberry from Milani and Captivate Me from Rimmel (Captivate me is a year round thing for me though, really)

Go to Autumn moisturizer? This is about the time of the year that I start ordering Body Shop’s Vitamin E lotion!

Favorite music this time of year? Starting November 1, it will be Christmas music 24/7 for me. Until then? I tend to favor rock and chill music like Hang from Matchbox 20.

Favorite Autumn movie? Hocus Pocus! Duh!!!!

Favorite Autumn attire? Sweaters and boots! Though to be honest, it is still too warm for those for me. I have been wearing light sleeved long shirts with my ballet flats.

Fall Clothes in the South

Favorite place to be? At home curled up watching a movie with fall candles going. On the patio drinking a fall beer and enjoying the weather. Walking in the leaves, I love how they smell!!! I also love driving up the mountain to Oneonta when the leaves change and eating at Benedikt’s.

Favorite Halloween costume? Chris is the DJ at this huge annual Halloween Bash. Some years I go all out, other years I throw on a Polite as Fuck top and call it a day.

Yeah, Maybe

I have been reading the same series for so long, that it was a really nice break to get caught up in Yeah, Maybe. And when I tell you that I got caught up….I got caught up! I literally read this book in two sittings. I couldn’t put it down, I just had to know what happened next!

From Goodreads

For quiet, reserved, and focused 15 year old Annie Mackey, school was a sanctuary. But when her bubbly and beautiful neighborhood best friend joins her at Willow Point High for freshmen year, her world is turned upside down.

Everything Annie could count on for stability is shattered, and she’s left feeling more alone than ever before.

Just when she’s about to lose all hope, someone unexpected swoops in and gives her a much needed lesson in perspective.

This book grabbed me from the very beginning, it has all the feels! Yeah, Maybe is the perfect depiction of what high school is really like for most people. I feel like we all had someone we knew in high school that seemed sort of our arch nemesis. That person that was always in your head.

We all learned who our real friends were, most always the hard way.

One of my favorite passages from the book, and trust me there were many…

And then she realized, everyone had something. A story. Annie had been so caught up in the drama around her that she hadn’t noticed how her story was changing her. And she’d been so busy blaming everyone else that she’d never take responsibility for anything that happened.

I love that you sort of grow with the main character and her friends throughout the book.

I highly recommend this book, five stars!

You can purchase Yeah, Maybe here.

Stephanie Plum Series by Janet Evanovich

I have really enjoyed reading the Stephanie Plum series over the last several months. There are 21 books that are published so far, and I am half way through the 21st. (There are also a few books in between like Plum Lovin’ and Plum Lucky which I have not read and don’t feel I missed much not reading.) I have never read more than a 4 or 5 book series before….so the fact that I have read all 21 consecutively (with the exception of breaking between 20 and 21 to read Joey’s book) is a huge deal!

From Goodreads:

Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter with attitude. In Stephanie’s opinion, toxic waste, rabid drivers, armed schizophrenics, and August heat, humidity, and hydrocarbons are all part of the great adventure of living in Jersey. She’s a product of blue-collar Trenton, where houses are attached and narrow, cars are American, windows are clean, and dinner is served at six.

Out of work and out of money, with her Miata repossessed and her refrigerator empty, Stephanie blackmails her bail bondsman cousin, Vinnie, into giving her a try as an apprehension agent. And that’s only the beginning of series that will set her on the trail of fugitives. Stephanie will have to sharpen her sleuthing skills, because she’s got many a mystery to solve.

Please note: Each book in this series is a whole story with a beginning and an ending, however there may be minor references to events that occurred earlier in the series. Therefore, with respect to the mystery alone, the books can be read out of order, if desired. However, like any long series that focuses on a core group of characters, there are various relationship changes that develop more naturally when the full length novels are read in the order in which they were published.

I have laughed out loud at some point in each of these books. Stephanie and the strand of wild and crazy characters that she meets in her dealings as a bounty hunter are quite entertaining! Plus, like all good stories, there is a love triangle that continues through out each book. Much like Pretty Little Liars, you never get any answers about where the triangle is going…but you cant help but get sucked in!

There is a movie based on the first book, One For the Money. I have not seen it, as I don’t want to ruin how hot Morelli and Ranger are in my head. I heard the movie wasn’t that good, but I plan to watch it at some point since I have invested so much time in the books.

I highly recommend this series if you love a good comedy and a little action. They are about 300 pages each and go by quickly. I give this five stars! Nothing keeps my attention for this long!

What are reading? I am going to be looking for suggestions after I finish up this last book!

Favorite Products

Every now and then you have to re-evaluate your arsenal of products to see what is working and what isn’t. And there is always that pesky seasonal change that can throw your skin for a loop.

Nioxin – Are there any other fine-haired girls out there? I feel like I am alone in blogland with all of your thick beautiful locks. When I went to see my hair girl last month, I expressed my frustrations of having no style to my hair, bumps on my head, and over all limp baby fine hair that is impossible to work with. She suggested I try Nioxin for all of my concerns. I read mixed reviews online but felt I had nothing to lose. Except more hair. So off to the store I went. I am loving this stuff! It has a minty smell, makes my scalp tingle a little, but really leaves my hair feeling clean and soft. So soft! It’s been about three weeks and I do feel I have a little more body to my hair. I will report back again in a month or two because it is supposed to help with growth as well. Time will tell!

Neutrogena Acne Wash – You guys, sometimes I feel like I am in high school all over again. Except not, because my skin was amazing back then. I guess that bitch Karma decided to show up after all. What’s a girl to do? I have been using this in the shower in the mornings and it has helped clear up some of the horrible break out I had going on. I can’t use it more than once a day, or it dries out my skin something awful.

The Body Shop Vitamin E Butter – Dry itchy skin is a bitch in the winter. Yes, even down south! This stuff is the only thing that saves me. I slather this all over in the morning after my shower and I am good to go all day. The scent is light and it never tries to over power my perfumes, which I like. I also have the hand/nail cream in this and love it too! I keep it at the sink after I wash my hands or dishes.

Batiste – We all love dry shampoo, am I right? I have used Suave and Not Your Mother’s in the past…but Batiste is where it’s at! The finish is just amazing for this one. And it smells amazing too! I pick mine up at TJ Maxx for $5.99. I have the thinnest of hair (see above) and this lasts all day with no touch ups needed. If that doesn’t sell you, nothing will!

Coach Wristlet – I was so excited when I got my iPhone 6 Plus that I didn’t even think about the fact that it will not fit in my cell phone holder of my Michael Kors wallet. #firstworldproblems am I right? When we were shopping at Christmas, I stumbled upon this little beauty at the outlets and it holds my phone, lip gloss, all my cards and my keys. Boom! They had it in black, red and the purple that I got. I just love the pop of color.
