Weekend Shenanigans

Well hey there, blog land. I am not going to lie. I am freaking TIRED this morning. I didn’t sleep much last night, and my nerves are completely shot. We had severe weather overnight, and if you know anything about me…you know I do NOT do severe weather. At all. Nope. None. Some of you may be asking why in the hell I am living in the southeast. I ask myself this question every time April rolls around. With a tornado watch, an actively loud thunderstorm and flash flooding….I basically stayed up worrying all night. Misery loves company though, and my sister was worrying herself to death as well….so we texted back and forth for a few of those hours. This morning Birmingham woke up to some serious flooding. Lots of road closures, people being rescued on boats, etc. I am just SO SO thankful we had no tornadoes. I probably need to seek counselling for my fear of tornadoes. Seriously.

Anyways, enough talk about the weather….let’s take a look at this weekend.

Friday evening we went to dinner with my sister in law and her family, then came back watched some TV and went to bed fairly early. Perfect night if you ask me.

Saturday – Chris worked outside in our yard for awhile cutting grass and removing some leaves and debris while I cleaned the inside of the house. Then, I hung a picture that Chris surprised me with on Monday in our kitchen. I LOVE it!!!

After all that work, we decided to take it easy and spend the afternoon enjoying the AMAZING weather on our back deck with a few beers, and our dogs.

It started to cool off when the clouds rolled in, so I decided to go get the grocery shopping done since I knew it was going to rain all day Sunday. It felt so good to just get it out of the way! When I got home, we watched some TV and cuddled the dogs.

Chris and Mac fell asleep holding hands/paws. So sweet!

Sunday – The perfect lazy day. We pretty much watched TV and did nothing ALL day. It was wonderful. I also had an idea for  fun snack that I created all on my own yesterday afternoon! Sweet potato chips. I love when something just comes together perfectly! I will be sharing the recipe next Tuesday, so be on the look out for that!

I enlisted Kathy to be my fitness guru go to because duh, she knows fitness jesus and is a complete bad ass. She suggested that I try body beast. I will start it tomorrow! Wish me luck! I couldn’t start anything today on no sleep. I have a feeling you need to be well rested for something called body beast.

Linking up with Kelli today for picture practice. This week topic was animal and hello, Mac!!! Perfect test subject.

It is time for me to load up on some caffeine and try to make it through this work day without taking a nap under my desk.

Turn Your Home Into a Spa

With working a full time job, working out five days a week, running this blog, owning a home, and life in general…it gets a little busy around these parts some times! Couple that with trying to eat clean and organic, staying trendy, and decorating a home…money can be tight too! What gets cut first in the budget? Unnecessary spending. Bottom line: spa time!

I am always on the look out for new products that I can enjoy in the comfort of my own home, that are friendly to my wallet, and make me feel like a million bucks! Enter: Tone Body Wash.

I was lucky enough to receive a bottle of Tone to review and I was SO excited when I opened the package! First of all, did you see the packaging???? It is a BEAUTIFUL pink color! I was in love already. Second, I noticed the scent. I am a scent snob and can be hard to please. I was nervous that this was a floral scent, sometimes they can be overpowering. I loved the Petal Soft scent I received! It has a combination of pink peony and rose oil. Hello, luxurious! It is a delicate scent, certainly noticeable but soft and just the right amount of scent. After a few uses in the shower, I knew I was hooked! I loved the way the body wash lathered, the scent that turned my shower into an instant spa, and how soft my skin was after just one use!

No wonder I felt like I was at a spa, with ingredients like cocoa butter, white clay, and alpha-hydroxy fruit acids; my skin stays moisturized and nourished all day! But don’t take my word for it. Light up a candle, and try out the Tone Body Wash for yourself! At this price, I want them all!

Bump it List

Linking up with one of my favorite bloggers,  Brooks, today for my Bump it List! Don’t know what a bump it list is? It is a list of things that you will never, ever do.

1. Skydive, bungee jump or other scary heights shit. I like the ground, thanks! And my life….

2. Get a tattoo on my face. I like tattoos. I have one on my upper shoulder blade. No judging. I just don’t want one on my face!

3. Smoke – Smoking is a disgusting habit. It stinks, it gives you old skin, it gives you mouth problems, it ages you faster and umm well…IT GIVES YOU CANCER! Why in the world anyone chooses to start smoking is beyond me. DON’T BE HER:

4. Drugs – I won’t do them. Nope. I am not one to give in to peer pressure. Never have been, never will be.

5. Drive a mini van. Just no! Never ever.

6. Eat disgusting things, like the crap they eat on survivor and those other weird shows.

7. Scuba or deep sea dive. For one, I am not a good swimmer. Two, sharks. Need I say more?

8. Get a large hole ear piercing. I just can’t look at them…they make my hears hurt and my stomach turn.

9. Pierce parts of my body shut. I like to talk!

10. Not stand up for something I believe in.

What are some things that you will never do?

Confessions

If you haven’t jumped on the confession band wagon, I don’t know what you are doing with your life?! I seriously love to get this all out in the open and then go about my day waiting on comments for you all to tell me that I am in fact not crazy because you feel the same way!

–I really do! Also, when I was in second grade and my mom and I were working on my spelling list for the week…I was having trouble with the word “special.” So my mom said it in a certain way so that I would remember, putting emphasis on certain letters. So anytime I write it…I do it in my head just like my mom taught me. S-p-E-C-i-A-l. Also, I can’t spell the work aggressive without cheering it.

Be aggressive

B-E aggressive

B-E – A-G-G-R-E-S-S-I-V-E

Aggressive

Be aggressive!

— I do not have a green thumb. I really want to have a green thumb. I am jealous of all you bitches that are naturally awesome at all of the things, this includes gardening. One of our goals this year is to get our yard looking awesome. I also have really wanted to start a little garden of my own. This has been on my mind the last few years. I think this year I am finally going to do it. Wish me luck and pray my stuff doesn’t die!

If you have any gardening tips…please share the wealth!

— You know that Lent commitment to stop diet soda for 40 days? LOL. That’s all I have to say about that.

Seriously though, spare me the lecture. I know that shit is HORRIBLE for our bodies and blah blah blah. I am trying. Really, I am. The thing is, I never really noticed a difference when I cut it out other than wanting to punch people in the face every time I heard a can open and a drink fizz. I decided if I am out at a restaurant and I just really really want one….then I am going to order one. Moderation, bitches.

–I seriously ponder this all of the time.

–The only thing getting me this week is lunch  with my “lunch club” Friday afternoon and Mexican Friday night with my sister in law! Come on Friday. come on Friday!!!!

Ten On Tuesday, Fools!

I am calling you all fools because it is April Fools day after all!

I am going to link up with Alyssa today for the Ten on Tuesday because I have A LOT of random shit to discuss.

1. How I Met Your MotherSPOILET ALERT If you haven’s seen the finale and you want to, and don’t want me to ruin it for you…or you just don’t give a shit about the show…then just move on to number 2. No bitching to me about spoiling it, I gave fair warning fools!!! But like seriously?!?!?! I cried of course because I cry about everything. I had so many emotions. It is the end of an era. I have been watching that show FOREVER. I had so many years invested in it. It is hard to just say good bye. But also I was emotional because the mother is dead? WTF. My husband has been saying for years that Ted and Robin were going to end up together. While she wasn’t the mother, he totally called it! What pisses me off though is that over the years the friends grew apart and that is just sad. Also, the name of the show is How I Met Your Mother, yet they talked about everything but the entire time. Joke is on us, I suppose. Whatever, I still loved it and sad to see it go.

2. April Wallet Watch – I am going to play along with Stephanie’s games. Haha 🙂 Chris has created a budget for us to stick to this month so that we can start putting money away in savings on a monthly basis. We will stick to the budget this month and I will link up with Stephanie to report that we kicked it’s ass. Hopefully.

3. Fitness – I have finally reached my last week of T25 Beta. It has been a good go the last two months. I have hit every single work out, except for a half of one last Thursday when my upper back/shoulder pain wouldn’t allow me to continue..but I still moved for 25 minutes so whatever! I have noticed great improvement in my legs and I can handle cardio for longer amounts of time. However, I have not lost a single pound and after evaluating this weekend I have decided to move onto something different and not go on with the gamma round of T25. It is only 4 weeks anyways instead of the 5 that were part of Alpha and Beta. I am either going to do P90X30 or Jillian Michael’s 6 Week 6 Pack. I am also going to clean up my eating even more.

4. Weather – Apparently spring is a thing and it has come back this week. With temps predicted to be in the 70’s through Friday, I am not going to complain!

5. Gold Bond Hand Cream – This stuff is the shiz! Go get you some!

6. Whole 30 – Toying with the idea of doing the Whole 30 challenge. If you are following me on Pinterest, and you should be!!!! then you know that I have been pinning some information and recipes for it. Anyone done it or thinking about doing it? Basically you eat whole, clean food for 30 days.

7. #1800 Minute Challenge starts today! I already have 30 minutes logged. Boom bitches!

8. Beach – I need a beach trip ASAP. Just a thought…

9. Sally Hansen Triple Strong – I have been putting this on my nails once a week for the last two weeks. My nails are super strong and growing rapidly. Do it!

10. For real.
