Happy Friday! This morning I walked out onto our deck to check the level of the dogs outside water bowl, it was frozen! Frozen water mid-March in the south? Crazy talk! It’s ok, later today it will be in the mid 60’s. Kathy is probably calling me a bitch right about now…she wishes it were 30 in Canada.

1. St Patrick’s day celebrations kick off this weekend! I am Irish and would you believe I never really celebrated St Patrick’s day the true Irish way? Well tomorrow that will change! We are heading out with some friends to get our green beer drinking on.

2.Last weekend we celebrated my niece Berkley’s 11th birthday. I got to spend some time with my mom and my sister. We don’t get to see each other near as often as I would like and I hate that…but we sure do make the best of the time we do have!

3. Chris sent me an email this week with the subject: Look what we have. Disney Infinity for the Wii U! We have been eyeing this game ever since it game out! It just sounds so fun and interesting and who doesn’t love Disney? Besides, he got it at such a great deal at Bargain Hunt that it makes it an even bigger win! Hopefully we will have some time to try it out this weekend.

4. My friend told me yesterday that she got an email from Old Navy that their dresses were buy one get one half off. I asked her if they had anything cute and she said yeah!!! I investigated a little further. I need to get to Old Navy ASAP! Check these out! I think the buy get one half off sale was only for yesterday, but a lot of these dresses are on sale and there is 15% off adult styles online. Swoon.

5.

And remember:

Advice From a Dog

My little Gracie Lou had her 8th birthday on Monday!!! Where in the hell has the time gone? It seems like just yesterday I brought home the cutest puppy on the entire planet who was tripping over her own ears.

Gracie has some advice to share with you today. She is very wise, I would listen up!

Hello there blog land. First, I want to take the time to thank all of you for agreeing with me on Monday….daylight savings time is NOT my friend.

I have been around for 8 years. While that doesn’t seem like a long time to you humans….I am considered a “senior” in dog world. I deny the term senior. Pay no attention to the white fur around my face. That is just signs of wisdom, ok?! My mommy says all the time that I am very much a puppy at heart. Just not in the mornings.

This leads me to my first piece of advice. Sleepy time is very important. Make sure you are getting enough!

If you take away nothing else from me, remember this: Always be excited when you see your loved ones! Let them know they were missed! I spend 9 hours a day Monday-Friday waiting for my humans to come home. It is the highlight of my day when they walk in the house! I make sure I let them know too!

You can never have too many snuggles.

There is nothing quite like a clean basket of laundry to relax you.

Master the sad puppy face. It works every time.

Share with others.

This reminds me…I need to work on sharing with Mac. He hasn’t quite figured out how to yet. Exhibit A: A toy taken right out of my mouth. Rude!

If you want something, you have to ask!

Take time to understand the beauty in mother nature.

No matter how annoying your family might be, they are all you have. Watch after them. I love my little brother Mac. He might steal my toys and bully me around…but I always look out for him.

DVR it people, life is short and ain’t nobody got time for commercials!

If you see bunny ears coming to wards you, run! (Thanks for taking one for the team, Mac.)

Enjoy a beautiful, sunny day!

Make time for the things you enjoy. Me? I prefer to hunt and slay dinosaurs. It is a big job, but someone has to do it!

A hug will make anything better.

Just a few more things, scoot in close and listen up!

If you don’t like something, shit on it. Cover it up, and move on!

Be loyal. Always.

Learn new tricks.

Never pass up the opportunity for a fun car ride!

You don’t always have to bite, sometimes just a growl will do.

If you really want something and it is buried deep, just keep digging!

If you get really excited, it is ok to run around and shake your entire body!!! Just dance!

Now if you all would excuse me, I have some wet food to go wolf down! (get it?!) I love birthday week!

Confessions

–Ok, I have to get this off my chest. I may have confessed this before, but clearly the message didn’t get out. IF ONE MORE DAMN PERSON INVITES ME TO PLAY CANDY CRUSH ON FACEBOOK I AM GOING TO UNFRIEND THEM! You make me want to punch babies and kill kittens. Please. For the love. STOP IT! If I wanted to play that game, I would download it my damn self.

–Maybe I painted my toes sparkly purple in honor of the lovely spring weather this past weekend. Maybe I am sort of obsessed with how sparkly they are. I got this nail polish on clearance at Target for $1.88. I mean, does it get any better than that?! NO! (Pay no attention to my hideous feet just look at the sparkly goodness!)

20140310-221937.jpg

–Maybe I am obsessed with the clearance sections at Target and frequent them weekly. I like to save money on cool stuff. Sue me.

Oh yeah….that’s the stuff!!!! Give me all the red stickered items!!!

–I might be the only person that feels this way but I sort of COMPLETELY hate the “happy” song by Pharrell. It doesn’t make me happy it makes me angry. It gets on my damn nerves and I really wish that it didn’t have to play on the radio every five minutes. It does make me rather thankful for Spotify where I NEVER have to hear it!

–I am about two and a half weeks clean from diet soda. I haven’t killed anyone yet. I find this to be a huge accomplishment. I have completely gotten rid of it before in my life, I dont remember when I let myself let it slip back in…but it needs to stay gone!

–Now that warmer weather approaches, I supposed I need to actually start shaving my knees again. Why is it the only place that never seems to shave right? Am I the only one who cant seem to figure out the secret to perfectly shaven knees? I ALWAYS miss a spot somehow?

It’s Wednesday, people! Make sure you are wearing pink and hook up with my favorite Canadian fitness Jesus Kathy and confess all your dirty secrets! Also, don’t forget my other fitness inspiration Liz and her hump day blog hop! I still laugh at the camel. Sorry that I am NOT sorry about that!

Sh!T Men Say

It is time for the monthly Sh!t Men Say link up!

Usually the stuff that comes out of Chris’s mouth is pure gold. I think now that he knows I blog about it once a month…he is keeping all the gems hidden or says stuff so creepy and wrong that he knows I wont post it on here….either way….I was still able to salvage these few gold nuggets!

–Let’s start with this past weekend, shall we? We are at World of Beer. The owner was in and came by our table to ask us how we were doing. Our friend starts talking to him about this new beer that came out from a brewery in Huntsville and told him that he would go to his car and get the bottle so he could see. Meanwhile, Chris and I were telling him that we are loyalty club members, because duh! Why wouldn’t we be?! He asked us if we had gotten our shirts yet and we said no, so he brought us two loyalty club shirts Sweet! Chris orders another high gravity beer and says to the owner, “We don’t stay out late, so we have to hit it hard out the gate!”

PS- Chris fell asleep on the couch at 7:00 pm that evening.

Sipping champagne at Michael Kors.

–We are laying on the couch watching TV. All of a sudden it smells horrific. My nose burns. I scream, “Holy crap did you just shit yourself?! Are you trying to kill me????” Chris smiles this creepy stalker smile and says very seriously, “Everyone loves the smell of their own brand.”

— This summer Chris and I were both in separate car accidents on the same day. The luck, right?! Our cars go in the shop the same day and we both get rental cars. I let Chris take the nicer car, a Camry and I take a Mazada the size of a clown car. (Back story, I drove a Camry for like 10 years before my Rogue.) Chris comes home after having the Camry for a day. He says he is going to take it back to Enterprise and get something more comfortable and better than the peasant car. (Thanks a lot!) Then he says, “That cloth interior makes my skin itch!” WTF!

He better NEVER call me high maintenance! He ended up getting a brand new fully loaded Ford Explorer for NO ADDITIONAL       CHARGE. Like seriously, WTF?!

Just remember, a dance off is ALWAYS a good idea.

And that my friends is the latest installment of shit Chris says. Tell me, what funny shit comes out of the mouths of the men in your life? Go to my home girl’s page and link the sh!t!

The Weekend That Flew By

And we all say Amen!

You guys, Gracie did is not OK with springing forward. This is the series of evens that played out with Gracie when I turned their light on in their room this morning.

Then I said..come on Gracie…let’s go outside and potty! Mac is ready to go! To which she responded….

20140310-065700.jpg

Why yes Gracie, it must be exhausting laying around being adorable all day.

Friday – Friday evening we stayed in and made a frozen pizza and watched some TV. It was nice to just relax and not be anywhere!

Saturday – Saturday morning I made breakfast and we watched some TV. I then cleaned the house and got some laundry started. Some of our friends from Huntsville were in Birmingham for the day, so we decided to meet up with them at World of Beer. After having a beer, the new Back Forty Peach beer which was mighty tasty…I decided that I obviously forgot that I hadn’t had lunch and it was after 3:00pm. So we walked down to Mellow Mushroom where I proceeded to order another beer and some pretzels with beer cheese. Holy yum. If you have a Mellow Mushroom near by, you must run over there now for their beer cheese. That shit is amazing!

Sunday – I got up early and meal planned and did our grocery shopping for the week. I then headed up to my sister’s house for Berkley’s 11th birthday party! She has two pre-teen on her hands now. Oh my! It was great getting to spend some time with my sister, mom and nieces. Cooper and Christopher were there too, but they played outside for the most part.

Cooper is hilarious. He just turned four last weekend and he is all about some shoes and belts. My mom couldn’t make his party last weekend so she brought him his present yesterday. He had picked out two pairs of shoes and an outfit last time they had gone shopping so when he opened is present he was like Converse!!!! Nike!!! Yay! I think it is hilarious that he knows what Converse is.

Then my sister was telling us a story about how he does this beach ball/beach body thing with his stomach so she calls him into the kitchen. She was like show grandma and Nadine your beach ball and he goes haha ok. He lifts his shirt up and pokes out his belly as far as he can and goes BEACH BALL! Then my sister says, show them your beach body. He says, “No…I just ate a cupcake I have no beach body.” We died laughing then my sister says ago, show them your beach body. Cooper says nope. Then she was like…I will let you play with my phone. Cooper says ok, fine! He lifts his shirt up and sucks in and he has like a 6 pack. We all started saying “Whoa look at that beach body!!!!” Cooper turns red and flips his shirt down real fast. TOO FUNNY!  That kid has some serious muscle for a four year old. He gets picked on by all his older brothers and sisters and I think he is training to fight back early. He wants to take karate.

I forgot to take any pictures, but we did get a few with my mom’s phone before she left. I need to get those from her!

And then just like that, the weekend was over. I am pretty sure I certainly noticed that we lost an hour.

And that my friends, is the weekend that was. I hope everyone has a great Monday!
