–I suck at hair. I spent 25 minutes trying to curl mine on Sundday and it looked anything but curly. It just looked like a hot mess. Like seriously, how?!?!?! How do you people do it?
–I can’t stand petty bitches. I chose to take the high road in most instances in life. I wish others would do the same. I guess it makes for a good laugh?
–Olivia is getting more curious as she gets older. This morning I saw her around the toilet in our guest bath. I said no Livvy, but she has never listened to me so why start now? She hopped up and then promptly fell in. I could not stop laughing. I am chuckling all over again as I type this because you should have seen the look on her face. Does that make me a bad cat mom? I am going with no, it was funny as shit and serves her right! You don’t see the dogs doing stupid stuff like that. I just wish Mac and Gracie would have seen it!
–I have already given up one of my goals this month. And by give up, I mean I never even started it. Meh. The good news is that I have been nailing my 6 days a week of work outs!
–The other day I was just signing in my car, like this:
Annnndddd then I realized that it was my exit and I had to get over two lanes super fast. Oops!
Confessions in ecards:
You know the drill, go link up with Kathy and Liz! Happy Wednesday!
We seem to be full steam ahead into September. I am not really sure how that happened, but I will take it!
Friday – As I was leaving work Friday afternoon, I saw two different rainbows on my way home! One that was above our office, and one on I-59 heading towards Trussville.
Friday evening Laura and Bennett came up to our house! It was so nice to have friends over. We sampled some beers, listened to some awesome music….and then battled it out in Mario Kart! I discovered that Laura shares the same love for Marvelous Three/Butch Walker. The only picture that escaped from the night was this gem of Chris and Mac. BFF!
In other news, Mac clearly needs a fur cut! He is looking like a crazy man!
Saturday – We got a lot of stuff done around the house Saturday morning. We then settled in to catch the Alabama game. We won 41 to nothing. Afterwards we ran some errands and did some shopping. Chris needed some new tennis shoes to match all his Alabama gear that he wears on the weekends, and I wanted to go to Nordstrom Rack to see if they still had my shoes that I have had my eye on.
While I was there, I happened to score a great top and sweater too! Does anyone else take pictures of everything in the fitting room before they buy it like I do? *crickets*
These Cole Haan shoes are the most comfortable flats I have ever tried on in my life. EVER!! They had a tan pair and a tan pair with some animal print detailing on them as well. Perhaps if these remain as comfortable as I think they will, I will go back for some more! I tried on a few Tory Burch shoes and they were all instantly very painful. How the hell do all of you wear them around? If I am paying that much for a pair of shoes, they shouldn’t hurt so bad! You all are crazy!
Sunday – I got the meal planning and grocery shopping done. Speaking of which, Target finally put out their seasonal creamers!!!! In addition to the Pumpkin Pie Spice and Frosted Sugar Cookies, they had Gingerbread Latte and Peppermint Mocha. Oh yeah! My mornings just got a lot sweeter. See what I did there?
Sunday afternoon we watched some football and both the Steelers and the Falcons won! YAY!!!!! 🙂 And we worked very hard on a project that we are starting up! Probably more to come on that later.
I hope that everyone had a great weekend! Let’s kick some Monday butt!
Don’t you love when Friday seems to come a day early, thanks to a four day work week? I know I do! Although, yesterday seemed long enough to count as two days. Good grief! Isn’t that funny how that works out?
Favorite Song: Alicia Keys Falling. When is the last time you have listened to this song? Like seriously? I believe it came out when I was in college. I loved it. It randomly played from my Spotify on Thursday morning and I belted that shit out like I was in concert. Love it!
Make sure you stop by Chris’s blog today! He is posting his latest mix which is perfect for boosting your mood and getting pumped for the weekend! You can download it for free, duh!
Favorite Recipe: I made an oldie but goodie, Turkey Taco Soup. At 198 calories per serving, how can you not love it?
Favorite Find: I have been wanting a pair of leather leggings forever. I know I would never wear full out leather leggings at where I am now. Sooooo I have seen tons of leggings with leather accents but they are always like $98 and I am like um no. They aren’t even real pants. I had to stop by Target last night for bleach and somehow I ended up in the clothing section. *It was totally legit, obviously.* Anywho, I stumbled upon these gems for….$19.99!!!!! Yes please!!!!
Here they are close up in person so you can see the detail.
Favorite Beauty Product: Cake Batter Chapstick is out for a limited time. Go get some NOW!
Favorite Delivery: I received my Julep box on Tuesday night. I am in love with the colors of the polish….and the lip gloss is awesome. Although, I wish the gloss smelled a little better.
Favorite Picture of Livvy: Her perch. She has really grown to love this thing and can usually be found basking in her own awesomeness in it. When she isn’t annoying the hell out of us or the dogs. I snapped this picture when she was watching me working out…and look at those judgy eyes! Whatever bitch!

Yikes, this guy is a creeper!
I am pretty sure I mentioned this already, but I freaking hate birds. This is one of the many reasons:
Just…yes
I hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!! Roll Tide!!! Go Steelers!
If you knew me in high school, then you would know:
–I lived in my own little bubble and had no clue how bad the kids I went to school with really were. I was too busy getting good grades, watching movies with friends, and shopping with my mom. Apparently everyone else was out getting drunk, sneaking out, having sex and experimenting with drugs. I had no desire to do any of those things.
–I played the flute and did symphony and marching band all four years. I was also in pep band for two years. Where my band nerds? I know you are out there!
–We moved from Missouri to Georgia in the middle of my sophomore year of high school. My first day at my new school? Pre-SAT day. Thanks, parents! That wasn’t stressful or anything!!!!!
–I didn’t go to any high school dances, that includes prom.
–I never had a boyfriend in high school.
–I crushed on Justin Timberlake, Lance Bass, and Jonathan Taylor Thomas. Totally in my league, right?
–I worked at Kirkland’s at Mall of Georgia my senior year. I kept that job all through college, and even a year after I graduated college on the weekends.
–I hardly wore any make up, just some mascara and maybe purple eye shadow if I was feeling fancy. My skin was freaking flawless. I wish it was still like that!
–I got very sick spring semester my sophomore year. I came down with pneumonia and missed A LOT of school. I was constantly in and out of the hospital and there was a point where I stopped breathing.
–I was on the newspaper and year book staff up until we moved to Georgia.
–My favorite color was purple. My bedroom was even painted a dark purple.
–I was in Spanish club for the free tacos and queso at every meeting because it looked good on my application to college.
–I drove a bright red 1993 Jeep Cherokee. It was the shit!
–I was in a horrible accident my senior year over spring break. I totaled my mom’s brand new blazer, you can read about it here.
–Ludacris, Nelly, Good Charlotte, Britney Spears and NSYNC were always blasting in my car or bedroom.
–I graduated with a high GPA and HOPE Scholarship.
–My dad called me Dino (like the dinosaur in the Flinstones) and some of my friends (mostly band friends and my boss at Kirklands) called me Nay-Nay.
–My graduation ceremony lasted forever! My graduating class was the biggest one on the east side of the Mississippi that year.
–I chose UWG (University of West Georgia) because my friend Shelley asked me where I was going at lunch one day. When I told her I wasn’t sure, she suggested I apply and if I got in we could be roommates. Sold. It was the only college I applied to.
And that was a little glimpse of Nadine in high school. Class of 2001. Who were you in high school?
Linking up with one of my fellow Birmingham blogging homies, Morgan!
We all have those things that we are really good at. Then we have those things we are not so good at. You know what I am talking about! Here are some things I am not good at:
–Making a decision about what to do or where to eat. I am an indecisive person first of all, so actually deciding on somewhere can be quite difficult. If I actually do suggest some places to eat or things to do, and you don’t want to do it, then why did you ask me to pick? You obviously had something in mind! That drives me crazy too! So I don’t like to decide, I am a go with the flow type of girl.
–I can’t draw. My drawings never advanced past stick figures. Even my stick figures are average at best.
–I am not good at making bows. I never learned how to tie my shows the way 90% of people do. I wasn’t picking up on the over, under around the tree shit…so I learned how to tie making two bunny ears and looping those around. Bows don’t look so cute when done with bunny ears.
–I am not good at confrontation. I freaking hate confrontation. I would rather just not say anything at all and suffer silently than confront someone about something. Unless they are so very wrong that I can’t stand it. Then I might explode.
–Kissing ass. I am not an ass kisser. I never have been, and I never will be. In school, teachers liked me because I was quiet, behaved and got good grades, not because I sucked up. At work people like me because I do my job, not because I am busy brown nosing it with the big people.
–Poker face. I can bite my tongue, but the people that know me best know what I am thinking because it is written all over my face. My mom and sister are the same way, must be hereditary!
–Geometry – I was a freaking math wiz in school, but the shapes? Fuck the shapes.
–Blood and first aid – I could never be a nurse. I get squeamish at my owns cuts and stuff. I have to give myself shots twice a month for a serious deficiency that I have and it is a freaking miracle that I can actually do it now. The site of needles before would make me weak in the knees. My dad was a paradmedic when I was younger and both he and my sister are on fire rescue squads now, so obviously that did not pass down!
Is there something you are not good at?
