Weekend Shenanigans

I was going to say the first weekend of April is in the books, but um that was last weekend. Goodness, time flies. This weekend was full of adulting and fun. You gotta keep the balance, am I right??

Friday after work, I met up with my sister and we drove out to see my mom. I appreciate all of your well wishes and prayers for her. She was in good spirits, despite all things. I know she is in a lot of pain, but hopefully after she starts physical therapy and everything….things will get better. It was good getting to spend some time with her.

When I got home, Chris and I dropped something off to a friend and picked up some pizza at Marcos to bring home. It was delicious, as always!

Saturday we had a list of adulting things that needed to get done. Mainly getting a shelf for my office, and a few other things on the list. A trip to Bargain Hunt, Best Buy, Big Lots and Sams ensued. We also had some delicious food at Casa Fiesta! These chicken flautas will be ordered again!!

Sunday, Zoe took a three hour morning nap!!! THREE HOURS! Do you know what a mom can get done in three hours?? A LOT!!! I got the shelf built, cleaned up some of my office, and did some other stuff around the house. When Zoe woke up, she ate and then we did our meal planning and grocery shopping. I picked up BBQ for a late lunch/dinner and we got caught up on a little TV.

The rest of the weekend looked like this….

We got Zoe a Sophie the Giraffe for Easter, but after a week of constant chewing on her hands and drooling through many outfits…I decided to bust it out early. Clearly, they were instant best friends! I also suppose that Zoe might be in the process of sprouting some teeth soon. Hard to tell, I don’t really see anything.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana.

Weekend Shenanigans

Rain, rain go away. Come again another day! Preferably one when I don’t have to drive downtown! I am just glad the threat for severe weather for our area went away for now. It is supposed to come back on Wednesday though. Woof. I HATE living in the south in the spring. Tornado warnings are scary! Anyways, enough talk about that. Let’s get to the weekend!

On Friday, Chris had a car delivered from Atlanta! He met them  in the parking lot of my office, so I got to see it when Zoe and I came downtown to meet my co-workers for lunch. His new ride is pretty sweet! It’s an Infiniti QX70.

Zoe and I had come to have lunch with my co-workers because one of them is leaving us 🙁 I hate that. He was the one that brought his lunch to work too and ate with me pretty much every day. We had to send him off with BBQ from Saw’s!!! Which, if you read Southern Living Magazine, is the best BBQ in Alabama. Yum!

Friday evening, my sister stopped by to bring Zoe her Easter present. She sure did get spoiled, look at all this stuff she got!

Included in all that were Zoe’s first set of blocks. She loves them! It is the coolest watching her discover and play with different things.

Saturday morning during Zoe’s nap, I went outside and cut the grass. I got about 60% of it done then. Man, it is so weird but I missed doing it last year when I was pregnant. I am not as in bad of shape as I thought I was, because I wasn’t really struggling much. Just with my allergies. Stupid pollen.

Saturday afternoon, we took Chris’s car downtown and he showed me where his new office is. He started a new job two weeks ago, and I am so happy for him. He is loving it and seems so much happier. I am so proud of him for the position that he has now with an amazing company. He has worked so hard to get where he is, and he truly deserves it. I know great things are in his future! He is truly amazing at what he does.

While we were downtown, we grabbed a late lunch at Skycastle. We both enjoyed a local beer too. Mmmmm.

Sunday, Chris came out dressed and ready to go on a mission when Zoe and I were playing in her room. When the Nintendo Switch came out, we had one preordered. We decided there were no decent games being released for it so we canceled it. Now that you cant really find them easily, it made us want one more. Haha. Go figure right? Chris had heard that Walmart had gotten a shipment in Saturday night, so we high tailed it over there before grocery shopping. We found it! I swear we just like the thrill of the hunt more than anything. We still dont have any games for it.

During Zoe’s afternoon nap on Sunday, I finished cutting the grass and vacuumed out my car. Talk about getting shit done! I then came back in and had a little playtime with her when she woke from her nap. I seriously cant get over how stinking adorable she is. Just full of personality too!!!! Thanks Laura for the super cute elephant romper! Zoe looks adorable in it!

And look at her “supermanning” in her crib.  I swear this child is going to be on the move sooner than later. And probably building some ab muscles in the process.

I hope you had a fabulous weekend!!!! If you live in the path of all this rain and storms, stay safe and dry my friends. Have a great week!

Weekending

Another weekend come and gone! This weekend we got a lot of adulting things done. It started off Friday night with the delivery of our king size bed! Hallelujah! There is a HUGE difference between a queen and a king and there is no going back now. Not ever. We were a little nervous that it was going to make our room feel smaller, but honestly, it opened it up even more! Before we had a bulky headboard/footboard on our queen and we actually gained a lot of space in our room! We still need to get a headboard, but I want something simple and fabric that will hardly take any space at all.

Saturday we walked around Bargain Hunt. We found a filing cabinet for all of our papers that are sitting around everywhere so we “wont lose them.” Now they have a home! Yay! I also found a flamingo print romper for Zoe to add to her Easter basket. Then we were off to TJ Maxx for a mattress cover, new towels and a new floor mat for our bathroom. Do we know how to have fun or what? We found all of it. Success! Zoe was so excited…

We ordered BBQ and took it home to meet up with Chris’s parents.

Sunday, Zoe and I got out and did our grocery shopping early to avoid the rain that was supposed to come around noon. Spoiler alert, it never rained a drop yesterday! We also went to Sephora so I could pick up the Murad Acne Time Released Cleanser I wanted to try. My favorite LBB. (Little Black Bag)

Dave Chappelle is back! Have you watched his new stuff that is up on Netflix? Some of it was epic, some was just meh. Overall, we enjoyed watching both. I missed this man!

The rest of the weekend looked a lot like this…

When your own eyes are looking back at you…insert all the heart eyed emojis…

Saturday night, I think Zoe’s tummy was hurting. She was napping in her crib and she started crying. I went in there and she was reaching her arms up at me so I picked her up and she immediately fell back asleep on my shoulder. For nearly three hours!!! Oh, how I cherished the Zoe snuggles…

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Linking up with Biana.

Weekending Things

Hey there, Spring! It is supposed to be 75 here today, so totally appropriate to ring in the new season! Pretty crazy that just a few days ago we woke up to 17 degrees. Whose allergies are going nuts like mine? Woof. We had a lot of fun this weekend!

Saturday we headed out to get Chris some new clothes. He was swimming in some of his clothes since he had lost a lot of weight this past year, and some of his other clothes were just worn. He found some great things at Belk, Clarks and Nordstrom Rack! We decided to head over to Outback for a late lunch/early dinner. There was all kinds of chaos going on in the parking lot. Two fire trucks, several ambulances and a whole lot of cops. When we left we looked over at where everything was going on and it appeared that the entire store front window of Dick’s was gone and caution tape was up. They were loading a car that’s front end was basically gone onto a tow truck. Soooo I am guessing the car crashed into the store? How does that even happen?? Put your phones down people!

It was quite the scene. You know what wasn’t quite awesome….our experience at Outback. Our waitress pretty much sucked, Chris’s steak was so nasty he took one bite and was done, and we watched the servers push around the trays instead of carrying them. Isn’t that a little lazy?It wouldn’t have been that a big a deal but it was really distracting at they kept pushing by us. I ordered the steakhouse salad, which was much better than Chris’s meal. Zoe had a total meltdown there though. I think she felt our bad vibes. And desperately needed a nap. Man she fights those hard these days!

Saturday night we came home and watched Office Christmas Party. It had it’s funny moments. She 100% made the movie!

Favorite quote: God would drive a Kia.

I made some Gorgonzola gnocchi since our lunch/dinner left much to be desired.

Sunday morning I got some cleaning done while Zoe napped and then we headed out to do our grocery shopping and pick up a few things at TJ Maxx. We grabbed some Moes BBQ to bring home for lunch and dinner. Yum!

Zoe and I had a fun little photo shoot on Saturday. I was just playing with her little tutu. She’s such a cutie.

We also had a silly little selfie session after one of her feedings. She cracks me up.

And that was basically our weekend. I hope you all had a great one! Linking up with Biana.

Shenanigans and Such

Why is the time change still a thing? Does anyone actually like getting your schedule messed up twice a year??? Also, did you know that babies and dogs have no regard for such changes? Exhibit A:

I feel you Z, I feel you!

Regardless of the loss of an hour of sleep, which is really just humorous at this point….there have been a lot of fun things going on around here lately!!! My mom came to visit Z and I and took us out for lunch and shopping. I got a new shirt and dress and we got Z some stuff for her Easter basket! Speaking of Easter, I ordered the cutest basket from Pottery Barn Kids that I cant wait to show you!!

Chris started looking at new cars this weekend. He wants to join the SUV club too! Looking for new cars is always so fun but daunting. Sort of like looking for a house. It’s a big financial commitment and you want to make sure you aren’t getting screwed.

My sister and my dad both stopped by (separately) to see Little Z this weekend. I have seen my family more since having a baby, than I have the last 7 years living in this state! Having a baby gives you some leverage!

I started working out again last week!!! Man, were my legs sore for about three days after! Eating has also looked a lot like this….

I have a good 10 pounds to get back to pre-pregnancy weight and a whole lot more pounds and tightening to get back to pre-pregnancy shape and better!! Having to cut the grass soon should help with the cardio!

Speaking of grass, what the fuck is up with the weather????? I am all, is it going to be hot or cold today and Birmingham is all BOTH! I don’t even know how to dress for this but whatever, I make it up as I go. Doesn’t stop my allergies though, am I right?!

Some other scenes from the weekend….

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Let’s do this Monday! Linking up with Biana.
