Weekend Shenanigans

Hello there mid November!!! You guys…I was looking at my calendar this morning and I realized that next week is Thanksgiving!!! Like, what?!?!?! How is that even possible?!?!?!

I hit up the Sephora VIB sale on Friday to snag the essentials that I was out of. Foundation, airbrush and UD eye primer. Oh, how I wanted to much more!!!! Buttttt Christmas presents. I have bought hardly any of those, dang it!

Sephora Haul

I went in wanting Too Faced new primer….but I wound up hating it after testing it out. After a few different ones I tried, I ended up coming home with a Lancome one. I haven’t used Lancome foundation in years but I really feel like I am going to love this. I will check back with you after I get the proper introduction!

I got to stop at Birmingham’s newest addition: Trader Joe’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh how I have missed this place!!!  When I lived in Atlanta, I could basically walk to my nearest Trader Joe’s. It was a several times a week stop for me and I realized on Thursday just how much I missed it! I picked up a few of my favorite things and introduced Chris to them all this weekend. He was totally on board!

Soooo basically we ate all the carbs this weekend!!!

Other than that, Saturday was spent watching football! All the games went in my favor! I watched my GA Dawgs beat up on Auburn, my Crimson Tide roll all over Mississippi State and just for fun I enjoyed Arkansas kick some LSWHO ass.

Sunday we got up early and headed to Waffle House and Target to get our grocery shopping done. We were back home before 9:30am!!

Then I spent the morning Christmas-izing house while watching Elf and Bad Santa!

The rest of Sunday was spent catching up on our shows and watching Friends.

I hope that everyone had a fabulous weekend!!! Did your team win this weekend? What did you get at the Sephora sale?

Let’s hope for a speedy last full week of work this month! Linking up with Biana.

Weekend Shenanigans – Christmas Crafting

Someone please tell me how it is already November 9th? I am going to need the next two months to slow it’s roll just a little. They are my favorite and I feel them slipping away!!!

There wasn’t too much excitement this weekend. It was nasty and rainy all weekend and that makes for a lazy Nadine. Friday evening, I grabbed some Moe’s BBQ on my way home and we stayed in and caught up on some of our shows.

Saturday I cleaned the house in the morning and we watched football the rest of the day. Did you guys catch that Arkansas vs Ole Miss game??? What a play there at the end in overtime, right??? We wanted Arkansas to win that game because it meant that we were that much closer in the running for the SEC Championship game if we could beat LSU that evening…and you know…win out the rest of our season. I was nervous for the LSU game, but Bama pulled out a big W over them and I am proud of how the team played. Roll Tide!!!

Sunday morning we were up and out early. We hit up Waffle House for some breakfast and got our grocery shopping done and were back home around 9:30am.

Sunday afternoon I met up with my mom and sister at Walmart to grab some garland and lights to make our own Christmas trees for outside. We used tomato cages that were in my sister’s garden this past summer as the base. I think they turned out pretty well!

To make my three, I used: three tomato cages cut to different sizes, 8 strands of wired 9 foot garland, 3 strands of lights and some pine cones.

Christmas Tree Phase 1

You take the legs of the tomato cage and bring them to a triangle. We used duck tape and a zip tie to secure them. Then you take the hooked part of the wire garland and hook it to the base of your cage and start wrapping it around. Then you add your lights and fill in any holes with pine cones. Boom – done!!

Christmas Tree Construction

(I sneaked a picture when they weren’t paying attention. Shhhh)

While it was an easy process, it took a little longer than we thought. We all had to redo at least one tree with garland after getting to the top because it was too spaced out or too full or whatever. You just sort of have to eye it. We had so much fun making these together though. Even my nephews helped place the pine cones.

I just need to grab some big bows for the top.

Tomato Cage Christmas Trees

I wanted to get my Christmas tree up this weekend, but it rained and I wasn’t able to pull it out to the drive way to do a thorough spider check. Perhaps next weekend will be dryer!

I hope you all had a fabulous weekend! Let’s get a good start to this week! I started my Monday morning off with a 3 mile run. Linking up with Biana.

Weekend Shenanigans

Oh, hey November!!! You sure did come fast! Time for another edition of Weekend Shenanigans!

Does anyone else thing of November Rain when November rolls around?

Accomplished

-cut the front and side yard for the last time this year

-hedged the bushes in the front of our house

-cleaned the house all while listening to Christmas music!!!

-put away all the Halloween decor

-meal planning and grocery shopping

-checked out the Christmas aisles at Target (obviously I want all the things!!)

-made the honey buffalo meatballs that I shared in my Friday Favorites a few weeks ago (I made them with ground chicken instead of beef, they were amazing!!!)

-organized a little bit

-finished reading Accelerate (it was awesome!!! review to come in the book link up next week)

-caught up with all our shows and got half way through season two of Friends

-watched Georgia lose to Florida

-watched Auburn lose to Ole Miss (I was actually rooting for Auburn! For shame, I know….)

Things that I did (1)

AKA Things that didn’t get accomplished

-cutting of the back yard – hey, 9,874 steps from the front and side yard were enough for me this weekend!!!

-working on any of my side projects that I had huge plans for

-organizing all of the things

-solving world hunger

Yesterday when I was taking the Halloween stuff down Chris says, “You putting up the Christmas stuff today?” My response, “It’s too early! That’s next weekend.” Hehehe!!!! That’s right, if I am going to spend hours putting it all up…then I am going to damn well enjoy it for as long as I can!!! I feel like Christmas decor and music only enhances my Thanksgiving experience, not take anything away from it. Plus I feel like if I have it up, it will feel more like November to me. It sure doesn’t feel that way yet. I don’t even feel like Halloween happened already, weird right?

I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend!!! I know I sure enjoyed getting texts from my sister and Laura with all the kiddos dressed up in the Halloween costumes!!!

Weekend Shenanigans – The Time We Went To Space

This morning it is all dark and rainy and it would be the perfect day to stay in and Netflix. You know, same as yesterday! But reality settles in and you realize you have to adult. So instead of reflecting on that depressing thought, let’s just talk about my weekend shenanigans, shall we?

This weekend was the annual Halloween party that our friends host. Chris keeps these people going with his beats. So Friday evening we headed to the house to set up all his DJ equipment and speakers and such. Then we headed to Whataburger because why not and promptly called it a night.

Saturday we watched the Auburn and Alabama games, Roll Tide!!! Then got ready for the party! The party had a space theme this year, so I decided to be a Galaxy Princess.

Galaxy Princess

The girls that host the party always go all out. And that doesn’t even describe how amazing this house gets transformed in to really. We literally entered another galaxy upon walking in the door.

Once the drinks started flowing, Chris kept the dance floor going all evening. If you follow me on Snapchat, you got a sneak peak at some of these pictures and lots of action video 🙂

Halloween 2015

Halloween

Sunday was a day for meal planning, grocery shopping, netflixing and I finished reading The Truth About Him.

Can you even believe that this is the last week of October??? I mean….a month from today is Thanksgiving. THANKSGIVING!!! Insanity. On the bright side, I will be able to blast my Christmas tunes starting Sunday.

I hope you all have a wonderful week! Linking up with Biana.

Weekend Shenanigans

And just like that another weekend has come and gone, and mid-October went with it! I woke up this morning to see it was 39 degrees outside. In Alabama. In October. Crazy talk, but I am loving it! In fact, I was loving the weather all weekend long with highs only in the upper 60’s to low 70’s. Perfection.Time for another edition of Weekend Shenanigans!

Friday evening I was exhausted. I came home and finished reading How Forever Feels and promptly went to bed. I don’t know why, but the week really just wears me out and I cant be bothered to go anywhere on Friday evenings!

Saturday morning we caught up on some of our shows, then headed to Blackwell’s for lunch. I got the Blackwell Burger with a blue cheese stuffed onion ring and swiss cheese on it. And I ordered an old favorite, the Well’s Banana Bread. You can never go wrong with Well’s!

IMG_6548

Well's Banana Bread Beer

From there, we grabbed some donuts from Heavenly Donuts to take over to my sister in laws house for the Alabama game!

Heavenly Donuts

I would like to point out that I had enough self control to not actually eat any of the donuts myself. If that isn’t willpower, I really don’t know what is. I had my cheat meal already so I was good.

Later that evening we headed to World of Beer for a little while. I was disappointed in the Stone 24 Carrot Golden Ale. It was supposed to taste like carrot cake and there was no taste of it what so ever for me. It did have a “sweet” finish…but not carrot cake. I mean, it was a decent Belgium beer but not what you think it is going to taste like.

They did have my favorite fall shandy, Jack-o-Traveler!

Chris and Nadine

Sunday was a day of Hulu, going to my nephew’s baseball game, grocery shopping and some food prep for the week.

Now we are back to reality! I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. Happy Monday!
