Weekend Shenanigans

I started this morning off with a run, which was rough since I didn’t do a minute of cardio last week! But damn to I feel good right now! It might also have to do with downing some Spark that Mia sent me before hopping on that treadmill. There might be crack in that packet or something because I seriously feel so amazing and focused right now.

I started out this weekend with a good TV binge on all of our shows Friday evening. Saturday morning, I got up and cleaned the house and cut just the front yard. Damn weeds. They ruin everything.

We were off to do some mother’s day shopping and thrifting after that. We ended up at Jack Brown’s for lunch. It had been too long. Freaking delicious!

We also walked around What’s on 2nd, which is always a cool experience!

Sunday we headed to Pell City to meet my mom, sister and her family for Mother’s Day lunch at Hwy 55. After that, we went to Bargain Hunt and then grabbed Starbucks. I finally got to try the Smores Frap! Delicious!!!  We went to Chris’s sister’s house to celebrate Mother’s Day with his family, then got our grocery shopping done.

The rest of the evening was spent binging on Chicago PD. Love that show!!!

This weekend in dogs…

I had to finish this post from my phone, so if it looks wonky…sorry! I hope everyone had a fabulous week!

Weekend Shenanigans

Death is upon me this morning. Dramatic much? Chris had been sick all last week and I thought I was in the clear. Then I woke up yesterday morning with a gasp of air. My head hurt. My throat was scratchy. My nose was stuffy. Oh, awesome. So excuse me while I overdose on Emergen-C and Tylenol Severe Cold medicine over here.

This weekend was chill. Before I left for work on Friday, I had placed some Italian Chicken Sausage in the crock pot for dinner. I basically took the family recipe and traded out regular sausage for chicken to “healthy” it up. It turned out awesome! We ate that after work while we binged on 3 hours of the Law and Order SVU/Chicago Fire/Chicago PD crossover. Did anyone else catch that?

Saturday I cleaned the house and cut the back yard. I also took the hedger to the bushes out front. The bushes are not my forte. At all.

I was all

Hoping to achieve…

But instead got something like this…

Not really. Those aren’t our bushes, but it isn’t too far from ours. Oops.

After that fiasco, which may be why I am sick…my allergies were driving me crazy out there…we headed to Best Buy to go buy another media shelf for our games down stairs. It was such a beautiful day, we decided to grab some lunch at Munoz on their patio while we were out. Yum!

Sunday consisted of meal planning, grocery shopping, laundry, finishing the book I was reading, dying a little on the couch, trying out the 200 CC class in Mario Kart (hard a shit) watching Just Go With It (we have seen it about a million times and I love it every time!) and the documentary Going Clear. Basically, Scientology is crazy.

Also, Sunday looked a lot like this…

And just like that, it is time to go back to work! I have a busy week that includes hosting a food drive for The Firehouse Shelter on Wednesday evening at World of Beer. If you live in Birmingham, you should come on out! It will be fun and you will be doing something great for the community!

Weekend Shenanigans

Can you believe this is the last week of April?

To be honest, I hate seeing the date April 27th. I have written a post on the events of April 27, 2011 here, for those of you who do not live in the south and may not know what went down. (Some of the pictures were lost when I transferred over from blogger.) I am thankful every day that my sister, brother-in-law, nieces, nephews and my dad are all still here. The people who were lost that day will never be forgotten.

This morning the sun is bright and shining and it looks like it is going to be a pretty day, so there’s that! Moving along…

This weekend we stayed pretty chill. Friday night we got caught up on some of our shows and headed to bed pretty early.

Saturday we celebrated our nephew’s 5th birthday party at Chuck E Cheese. Chris ended up getting us a bunch of tokens, so we played a lot of games and gave the birthday boy all of our tickets. After, we headed over to my sister-in-laws house and helped them unload all the birthday stuff and hung around for several hours just sitting and chatting on her back porch. One of the great pleasures of living in the south is all the porch time we can enjoy with the weather!

After breakfast on Sunday, I headed outside to cut the grass. I only got the front and side done…damn pollen and weeds! My allergies were going crazy yesterday. We got our meal planning and grocery shopping done and settled in for some movies! We watched This is the End and Neighbors. Both movies were decent. This is the End had some really stupid parts, but also some really funny parts. And I loved how the movie ended. Everything is better with a performance from BSB!!!

And that was my weekend folks! Those of you who curse me for my food porn on the weekends shall be happy there were no food pictures to be seen here today. Trying to keep myself in check. This girl had zero birthday cake this weekend.

I hope everyone has a fabulous week!!!

Weekend Shenanigans

Hello, Monday.

For whatever reason, last week was so long for me. When I left work Friday night, I was ready to put the week behind me so I came home and cleaned the entire house to get a fresh start for the weekend.

Saturday, I headed out early to meet up with my mom for some shopping! It has been far too long since her and I had a girls day! We met up at Sephora so I could pick up some foundation. Why do I always need the basic necessities when the good coupons roll around, eating up my make up budget? *insert sad face*

We checked out a few stores at The Summit then headed to Ashley Mac’s for lunch! Ashley Mac’s is this cute local girly restaurant that has the BEST chicken salad and sour cream biscuits!! When I worked in Cahaba Heights, I frequented this place on the regular. I always get the same thing, half a chicken salad sandwich on croissant with a side baby blue salad and a sour cream biscuit. (The tiny biscuit is hiding behind my salad between the sandwich and the dressing.)

After that, we headed to Nordstrom Rack and TJ Maxx. Norstrom Rack had so many cute things this time! And shoes for days!!! It was then time for me to head home. I couldn’t believe how fast the day had gone by. Why don’t work days go by that quickly?

Sunday morning I had gotten up to do some blog things, but after hearing that the weather may get bad later…I got the meal planning and grocery shopping done super early. The rest of the day was spent doing things like this…

And this….

Last night we decided to watch a movie, We’re the Millers. Have you seen it? I just love Jennifer Anniston and the movie had its funny parts. Luckily, the weather never got severe here and we even saw some sunshine for the first time in days!!!

In other news, I was at Target yesterday shortly after they opened and I didn’t even think about the Lily collection premiering. Does that make me a bad blogger? Meh…

I got picked for a Voxbox for the first time in like a year, so I am super excited about that!!! It is supposed to be a Covergirl one and I just love playing with new make up!

Has anyone tried the Rimmel setting powder? Just wondering…

Weekend Shenanigans

Well, hello there! I looked down at my calendar this morning and saw that it was April 13th and I had to do a double take. Didn’t April just get here? How are we nearing the middle of the month already?? Here is another installment of my weekend shenanigans!

I cut the grass again this weekend. I have a feeling with all the rain that we are supposed to be getting this week, it is going to need to be done again next weekend too! I also finished reading The Beach House and got started on Promises to Keep.  I will be linking up with Stephanie and Jana tomorrow to talk about the book. Spoiler alert: I loved it 🙂

Saturday, we found ourselves at World of Beer. It was such a beautiful day that it called for some day drinking on their patio! We split an order of shrimp and the tavern tators and just chilled.

Laura and B came and joined us! It has been awhile since the four of us have gotten to hang out. We headed over to Moe’s BBQ for dinner. They have the best turkey and baked beans!!!

Like the wild and crazy 30 somethings that we are, we stayed out until *gasp* 9:00 pm! Crazy town, right?

Sunday, as always, was meal planning and grocery shopping. I had to stop by TJ Maxx to pick up some new weight lifting gloves. I use them to cut the grass because hello hand blisters if you don’t! While I was there, I perused the beauty department to see if I could find some stuff for an at home pedi, low and behold they had a scrub and a peeling lotion on clearance! Score!!! I also picked up a 4-in-1 tool and a box of foot masks. All that foot stuff combined was only $13!

I used everything but the foot mask last night, and I can already tell a huge difference! I figure if I do it again tonight, then keep up with it about once or twice a week…my feet will be in good shape all summer!!! Do you have a favorite foot product? What is your favorite nail polish color for your feet? Like not pink…but a specific color.

We are nearing the end of this season for a lot of TV shows. We watch Grimm, Vampire Diaries, The Originals, Modern Family, Pretty Little Liars, Law and Order SVU, The Big Bang Theory, The Mindy Project, The Good Wife, Grey’s Anatomy, Scandal, Tosh.O, South Park and Revenge. What other shows are awesome that we are missing? It is time to start finding more to binge upon.

Linking up with Biana today! I hope everyone has a fabulous week! I am trying to talk myself in to doing the same 🙂 Oh, Monday!
