Weekend Shenanigas – Disney On Ice Edition

Well, I am not sure about you guys….but having an extra hour this weekend was lovely, and I wish we could gain one every weekend!

Friday – Friday I took the day off work and chaperoned Cooper’s class to Disney On Ice. Cooper is my four year old nephew for those that may not have caught on to that. He is basically the cutest kid there ever was.

We had an amazing time. It is so cool to see the looks on all their faces when the first characters came out on the ice. When there was fire or someone flew they sat at the edge of their seats. When Goofy waved, the little boy that sat in front of us turned around and said “Look! Look! Goofy is waving at me!!!!”

The theme was Treasure Trove and they went through different movies, like Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, Aladin, Toy Story, Tangled, Little Mermaid and Snow White. I loved every moment!

Snow White

Alice in Wonderland

Toy Story

Saturday – I woke up early, cleaned the house and cut the front and side yard. I just have the back to do next weekend and hopefully that will be the last for the year. I felt so damn accomplished after the side yard. I was able to do the whole thing at one time, a first for me. Let’s me know that even if I don’t exactly see results from my work outs lately, I know I am getting in better shape! One day I need to take a picture of that side yard so you see what the big deal is!

I rewarded myself with a Caramel Creme Brulee, one of my favorite holiday drinks from Starbucks…in the pretty red cups of course!

I enjoyed an Ace Pumpkin Cider while catching some of the Georgia game.Sadly, it was a loss.

Sunday – When I woke up, I made myself a cup of Pumpkin Pie Spice coffee and sat down with my book that I haven’t had a chance to read much of lately. I got in several chapters and it felt great! I then made us some cinnamon rolls for breakfast and we watched some of our shows. We then meal planned and headed to the store to get our grocery shopping done for the week.

Sunday evening I had to get some work done since I was out on Friday. I also did a little blogging work and answered all my emails. I am still a little behind on blog reading but hope to catch up this week!

We had some pumpkin cookies with white chocolate morsels this weekend too. I totally whipped out my winter cookie tray.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. Can you believe we are already into November?!

Weekend Shenanigans

I could use about five more days off, but who can’t right?

Friday – So, as you know…last week I was in Orlando for work and we flew home Friday morning. When we were waiting for our connecting flight in Atlanta, we received an email from our boss letting us know that he encouraged us to work from home the remainder of the day instead of coming in the office. This was the best news ever! I was exhausted! It was a busy few days, and we had to get up super hella early to catch our flight that morning.

Friday evening, Chris came home and we had some left over pizza that he had ordered while I was gone and watched TV. I had approximately 3467 cups of coffee throughout the day Friday to keep me going.

Saturday – I woke up and cleaned the house Saturday morning and did some laundry. I started volunteering at the humane society in Birmingham a few weeks ago, and I had a canine class to take that afternoon. It was a great class and went over the basics on dog training and how to socialize the dogs.

There was this little puppy that was all alone after her litter had been adopted. Her owner had thrown acid on her and she had burn marks all over her little puppy body. Well, Saturday was her first day out in the play yard. Our class instructor said she had never been outside before and she army crawled around the play yard at first and was very timid and scared. Then she realized she was ok and started playing and was super happy.

When we were out in the play yard with another dog learning proper training techniques, someone else had brought her out and she saw the other dog and ran up to him and started giving him little puppy kisses and her tail was going crazy. My eyes started to water. It was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. And I knew that is why I was there. To give these dogs the happiest life that I can while we have them there. While we were watching football later that evening I had looked on Facebook and saw that the little puppy had been adopted that day!

Speaking of football, yikes! Chris and I watched the games with his dad. Where the hell did Ole Miss and Mississippi State come from this year? Alabama barely squeaked by Arkansas this weekend too! At last Georgia killed Mizzou.

Sunday – We headed over to Best Buy for me to look at phones. I am torn you guys! I thought I really wanted the iPhone 6. After looking at them, I would never get the 6. Maybe the 6 plus….but really…I was just completely underwhelmed by them both. I am now thinking about the Samsung Galaxy S5 instead. Do you have either phone? What are your thoughts?

Other than that, we did our grocery shopping and meal planning then spent the day watching TV and playing Mario Kart 8 and Putty for the PS4.

I used to love Super Putty for SNES and this game is an updated version. It was a lot of fun once I got in to it and I got past the first three levels 🙂

That was my weekend. Nothing too exciting but a lot of rest. We are supposed to have a super busy week at work so I am glad it was low key! I am behind on blog reading from being gone last week, so bare with me while I try to catch up with all of you!
