Weekend Shenanigans

I am not even sure how it is possible that we are already in Thanksgiving week, but the calendar doesn’t lie. Who else sooooooo need this short work week??? This weekend was nothing too crazy. I worked from home on Friday to keep Zoe out of daycare and away from other germs since we were still in recovery mode. Girlfriend took a three hour nap which was fabulous for squeezing in all the work I could.

Saturday morning I cut the side yard for the last time this year. I still need to cut the front and back, but I feel so accomplished! After Zoe’s nap, Chris and I headed to Target because they were having 25% off their entire toy department. There was this toy I wanted that was 20% off in Cartwheel on top of the 25% discount, but unfortunately it was sold out. I hate that you cant do Cartwheel online, you know? So we didn’t end up getting anything. We did go to Red Robin and have a late lunch though. Can you go there and not order the onion rings? I think not.

That evening, we caught up on some shows and snacked on summer sausage and cheese.

Sunday, Zoe and I knocked out our grocery shopping early. Since we will be eating with family Thursday, and will probably have those leftovers Friday…it was a scaled back trip. We are having Italian Cheeseburger Soup and Pork Chops for dinners this week. I made beef enchiladas for lunch yesterday.

And homemade spaghetti for dinner. Nothing better than the smell of that sauce simmering in the crock pot all day.

I think I started a bad habit with Zoe, pulling her around in an empty laundry basket. I have never heard her giggle and squeal so much though. So absolutely loves it!

And here we are, staring Monday right in the face. Probably the longest one ever with the short work week ahead, right? That is how it always works! I have a lunch date with Laura today, so it gives me something to look forward to this morning.

I think I might still be having issues with comments coming to my email? I guess I will find out after some of you leave me one today. I am trying to get it resolved, so sorry! Technology has been a real nightmare for me lately. The amount of times I had to restart my work laptop and powder down my phone last week is ridiculous. Linking up with Biana. Hope you all have a wonderful week!

Weekend Shenanigans

Good Morning!!! I am still trying to regulate my heart rate after that Bama struggle win on Saturday night. My goodness what a crazy weekend in football, huh??? I hated seeing my Dawgs fall, especially to Auburn. Gross. And what a performance from Miami!!! There were a lot of weaknesses exposed this week from the top rated teams. It will be interesting to see how the rest of the season plays out.

This weekend just zipped right on by and I am over here scratching my head and wondering where it went??? Mine started out Friday with Chris at lunch for our anniversary day date! It was so great to spend a little time, just the two of us. He went with me to a doctor appointment I had, then we grabbed lunch at CowFish and I even stopped by Sephora to pick up my beloved moisturizer during the VIB sale.

Saturday morning we were up and heading south bright and early to meet up with our photographer at Orr Park in Montevallo for family pictures. It was a beautiful morning, and we had so much fun walking around the park and capturing some special moments. Our photographer is amazing to work with, and if you are local and looking for someone….I will most definitely share her information with you! She already has our pictures back to us and I cant wait to put them all over our house!

We were starving after all the photo excitement, and stopped off for some lunch before heading over to Chris’s parents  house to watch some football.

Sunday morning, Chris decided to head to the grocery store with us. He picked up the special edition Xbox One X that he pre-orded while we were out. Zoe was patiently waiting in her stroller big girl style as daddy selected some games.

And the rest of the weekend pretty much looked like this….

and this…

and this….with our nose in books. Zoe takes her reading time serious.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend!!! Linking up with Biana this morning.

Recommendations and a Little Weekending

Chris has been moving stuff from one server to another, and my blog link didn’t work there for a few days but I think everything is back. All that tech stuff is over my head. Anyways, we didn’t really do much this past weekend. We spend Saturday with Chris’s family and Sunday at home just hanging out. I did want to share Zoe’s Halloween/Fall photo shoot we did on our front porch! The pictures are too cute to not make it here on the blog.

And now for some of my recommendations for the month!

L’Occitane -I placed an order with Sephora last week and they had a VIB offer for a delux L’Occitane sample. You got a body oil, the  Shea Butter Hand cream and Immortelle Divine. I have used the Immortelle Divine yet, but the body oil and hand cream are amazing. The hand cream is actually the best I have ever used. It makes my skin immediately soft and silky and isn’t greasy in the slightest bit. My first love was Body Shop Vitamin E butter, but L’Occtane has them beat. The scent is a pleasant smell, sort of clean powder if I had to give it a name. My hands have never felt better and when this one is gone, I plan to stock up!!! I had already been using their shower oil, and love that too. I love it for after shaving, and it’s in the shower so I don’t feel like it is an extra step.

Democracy Jeans – I purchased my first pair of these a few months before I got pregnant with Zoe. They are so comfortable and forgiving, that I was able to wear them for a few months into my pregnancy. Postpartum, I wasn’t sure how I was going to go back to real pants after months of maternity leggings, so I went back to Nordstrom Rack and got a new pair. I have literally  been living in them ever since. They are so comfortable and they feel more like jeggings with the look and material of actual jeans. They come in all sizes and you can usually find them for around $40 at Nordstrom Rack at any given time.

Late July Chips – Chris picked up the Late July Chia & Quinoa chips at Publix one time and they are seriously the best tortilla chips ever!!! We have had a few different kinds from the brand and you can’t go wrong, but this kind is the absolute best! Plus they have to be healthier with chia and quinoa, right???

Cat and Jack – I have picked up clothes from several different places for Zoe over the last year, and the Cat and Jack brand from Target is among my favorite for sure. Everything is reasonably priced, so cute without being cheesy and fits like a dream. I have the hardest time finding her pants that don’t stretch out during the day, and their leggings really hold up. Especially now that she is crawling. If you are pregnant or looking for a gift, be sure to check them out!

Weekend Shenanigans

Hey there, Monday. Wish I could say I was excited to see you, but I’m not. And if we are being honest, unless you are a holiday, I probably never will be. But you’re here so let’s make the best of it, ok? This weekend we didn’t really have anything planned, and sometimes that is the best.

Laura and I kicked off the weekend with lunch at Shiki. I never say no to Thai food, and they surprisingly have one of the best sangria’s in town! Because Friday.

Friday night, Chris had to work a little so I settled in with some Young and Hungry and made us the pumpkin cheese ravioli’s from Trader Joe’s. They were delicious!!! I am going to go this week and stock up before it is out of season. I made a browned butter sauce with parmesan cheese to go over it, and it was so perfect.

Zoe played in her bouncer for a few minutes, which is rare because she hates to be contained these days. She does this thing where she sticks our her tongue when she is thinking or exerting physical energy. A little girl in her class does it and I guess she picked it up from her, funny how that happens.

Saturday we headed over to Bargain Hunt to do some browsing, and had an early lunch at Avondale CommonHouse. I ordered the Southern BLT and it was delicious!!!

We then headed over to Chris’s parents house to watch the game with them, and Zoe spent some time with one of her cousins. Tennessee is one of my least favorite teams in the SEC and it is because of things like this….

What a classless bunch. It’s pretty funny, since they were down three touchdowns and really had no chance of winning the game. That evening, we had some gorgonzola gnocchi and watched some more football.

Sunday morning, I met my sister over at Target to get our grocery shopping down. I picked up some chicken tenders, mashed sweet potatoes and mac n cheese at Publix and we settled in for some lunch and TV.

Zoe enjoyed hers too! After lunch, Zoe and I laid down and watched Pocahontas and took a nap together. I think that was my first nap since she was born. It was fabulous!

That evening for dinner, I made Spicy Chicken Rigatoni and we caught up on Chicago Fire.

And just like that, the weekend was over. I hope you all had a fabulous one. Linking up with Biana.
