Reading: Zeke. After being broken by Me Before You and spending a month trying to get through The Forgotten Room, I need something light and quick. This is working perfect for that! You will read my thoughts on all of these books next Tuesday for the Show Us Your Books link up! YAY!!!
Listening to: Birmingham Shines and Call Your Girlfriend Podcasts. I had been listening to an audiobook for a few weeks, so it was time to get caught up on my podcasts. I don’t listen to all the CYG episodes because some are a bit ridiculous but this one is about bestiepreneurs and my goal one day is for my bestie and I to run a business so it is very inspiring!
Also listening to this song on a million times repeat, thanks to Joey!
Watching: We watched Scandal, SVU and PLL so far this week. Chris and I joke every time we sit down to watch PLL. Last night he said, “Are you ready to waste 42 minutes of your life?” I always remain hopeful, “Maybe it will be good?” Chris, “Well if I am going to waste 42 minutes of my life, I am glad it is with you.” Awwww.
Working On: So many things!!! I made a mess of mine and Laura’s food blog last weekend when I tried to install a new theme. I need the help of a serious IT person. Thank goodness I am married to one! I am going to proposition some beers or his favorite meal for his expertise.
I also have been working on fixing up and organizing certain areas of our house. I took a break from this last weekend but hope to pick back up.
Researching the shit out of a IIFYM and a few other things.
Pinning: All of the things! But mostly recipes. I can’t tell you how many new things I have made in the last two months! At least a few new recipes every week! And most of them have been winners. Like this Butter Chicken I made in the crockpot yesterday. And friends, this is Paleo, Gluten Free and Whole 30 approved! I made it with my carrot fries, duh.
And all the Spring and Easter things!
Laughing:
Excited: For Friday lunch club! Not sure where we are going this week, but it is always a good time. Also, the weather this weekend is supposed to be beautiful!
Thankful: For amazing friends. Ones that know how to make you laugh or just let you vent about your day or what’s on your mind. Ones that just know how to lift you up and give you a compliment that you didn’t even know you needed. I know without a doubt that certain people were brought in to my life for a reason, and I couldn’t be more thankful for that!!!
Thinking About: All the people just a little south of Birmingham that were surprised by an EF2 tornado that came ripping through the area Tuesday night when we were all trying to get home from work. I had just got my stuff together to leave and the tornado sirens started up. Scary shit!!! All I could think was, I don’t want to die at work!!! I also felt loved because Chris and my sister called at the exact same time to check on me, and Laura texted me shortly after that to make sure I was ok. Could you imagine those that were in their cars when it happened? Yikes!!!
Linking up with Kristen and Gretchen for What’s New With You and Joey and Kristin for Stuff and Things!! I hope you all have a fabulous Friday Eve!!!

i’ve always wondered about tornado sirens. are they mounted throughout the town so that everyone can hear it? we don’t have anything like that because nothing exciting ever happens in toronto other than a shit ton of snow.
i tried watching PLL and gave up maybe 6 episodes into it. did they ever find out who A was?
I love that Chris watches PLL with you! The rare times that I watch it when Ryan is in the same room I spend more time pausing it and telling him what in the hell is going on than actually watching it. Why haven’t the girls learned their lessons yet??? Who is that put together and can afford that nice of things right out of college???? Go to the damn police already!!! Sigh.
I am so far behind on PLL — stupid Netflix, and what the heck ?? What is Freeform? Where the hell is ABC Family? And duh, I have to check on my Nadine — I need you safe and sound at all points in time.
How sweet that Chris watches PLL with you! And I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m so jealous of Friday Lunch Club!
awwww chris is so sweet! if i suggested we watch PLL, KC would just laugh at me.
definitely checking out that healthy butter chicken, yummy!!
aww you have so many great friends and family checking on you when the tornado was happening. when you didn’t write back after a long time i was freaking out and i swear right as i was about to text you, you wrote back and i was like phew. i flipping hate tornadoes and shit.
Yeah, PLL has been not great lately. Do you watch Better Call Saul? I have been enjoying that one. If you liked Breaking Bad than you should definitely check it out.
The couple that watches PLL together stays together!! Love it! Dang scarey weather. We too are loving Better Call Saul. Butter chicken…YES!! Happy Friday eve my friend!!
I saw the video of the girl that was stuck outside during the tornado & survived by standing beside a coke machine. YIKES!
I still am trying your carrot fries this week.
I am so obsessed with that song too. I’ve got a list of songs I need to buy tonight to update my ipod
You are a GEM for that slow cooker butter chicken recipe! I’m obsessed with Indian food, Michael is gluten free, and we’re implementing weekly crockpot dinners sooo this is now my top contender for next week! 🙂
So scary about the tornado! Glad you’re okay!
We have been having a lot of weird weather here too. Tornadoes freak me out. No sirens yet though thank God. Scandal is so freaking good again!
Thanks for linking up! Praying for the people in Birmingham and feeling lucky that our weather is pretty mild in Pittsburgh.
I’ve never watched Pretty Little Liars and now I’m not too keen to start, haha!!! If you are looking for some great IIFYM info, I found Skinny Meg’s blog really helpful and there is also a great facebook group for IIFYM for Women!! (although I’m sure it is easy to find out about via Pinterest/Google etc. too). That tornado sounds so scary!!!
So excited to grow my TBR even more with the Show Us Your Books Linkup! I’m so incredibly behind on all of my shows (SVU, PLL, Scandal, The Bachelor, and pretty much everything else) and I really need to get caught up! Thankfully we have a weekend at home, so hopefully I’ll be able to! That funny is so hilarious! I need to start telling people that!
I’ve been pinning things lately too and trying to cook more! So thankful for amazing friends too, mainly because I really miss mine!
I’m a terrible blogger friend because I know you asked me about IIFYM and I forgot to respond to the comment!! 🙁 I’ll email you the information I was originally sent by another blogger friend. I really enjoyed it because it allows me to eat what I want as long as I’m hitting my macros. Hoping to get back to it this next week!
that tornado sounds so scary! I remember one hit my house a few years ago and that was the scariest moment of my life. I thought my windows were going to shatter. Butter chicken is sooo good! I’ve never attempted to make it from scratch though.
I’m seriously amazed that Easter and spring are so close—especially because they’re predicting another snowstorm here this weekend! But it’s also supposed to be 70 next week, so… ???
Tornados sound so terrifying to me, especially since I’ve never experienced one before and can only really think about them in kind of abstract terms. Glad you were okay!
I had to think really hard about what PLL stands for. Clearly I don’t watch it.
Tornadoes scare the crap out of me. I can’t imagine what it’s like living somewhere where they are an actual thing to deal with. Glad you’re okay!
Hell yes to that Thursday glass of wine! I don’t know what IIFYM is, but I do know that I need that butter chicken in my belly! I can’t imagine living anywhere near where a tornado could hit. I always remember Twister and the flying cows, and then all the destruction it left in its wake. That’s some seriously scary shit!
My husband watches half my shows with me…makes snarky comments under his breath, but still knows what’s going on and it cracks me up. Men! HA!
How lucky are you to live with an IT professional?! God knows i need one this week. I can’t wait to hear about your IIFIYM research. I’m currently doing Weight Watchers just to track… no meetings or anything. And I don’t love it. I know it works for some people and maybe I’m just doing it wrong! I just feel so intimidated by IIFIYM! I’m glad you are safe! Tornadoes are awful!
I LOVE that song! Rachel Platten is so great.
Also, so sweet that he wants to waste time with you. 🙂
Love that song and that was so incredibly sweet what your hubby said! 🙂
Popping over from Gretchen’s feature about you! If Gretchen and Kristen love you, then you’ve gotta be a good blogger! 🙂 Loved reading your recent favorite and activities. The butter chicken recipe sounds like something my husband would love…and I love the fact that it’s a crockpot recipe so I’m off to check that out!

Friends are the best, I’m so glad I have local one’s these days!
I want to have a lunch club but I don’t want to wear pants.
I never watched PLL but imagine I might fall down that rabbit hole one of these days. It seems like something I’d do. LOL
Ugh I hate IT things. Thank God you have an expert on hand!
LOLthat is exactly right about PLL. I can’t believe Chris watches it with you – every time the theme song comes on and Ben realizes what I’m watching he just rolls his eyes haha!
