I haven’t done a currently post in awhile and I always like to see what other people are up to. You know, because I am nosy and all. I mean, aren’t we all as bloggers?
Listening: I started listening to Liane Moriarty’s new book yesterday though Audible. My request was rejected through Netgalley. So rude. But she’s one of my favorite author’s so I must! I have to say, it usually takes me about 5 or 6 chapters to get in to her books. I think I am at chapter 4 or 5 right now so I will weight in later on my real thoughts. Hard to say.
Reading: I am about 70% through The Restaurant Critics Wife. I have mixed feelings about the book so far but I am excited to see where it all goes. I am sure I will finish it this weekend. Once I get to 70% in a book I can usually finish it really fast!
Watching:Chris and I only have a few episodes left of Breaking Bad. Yes, this is the first time we are watching the whole series. No we don’t live under a rock. We just had too much to watch before and wanted to dedicate a summer of slow time to it!
I also started watching One Tree Hill from the beginning when Chris is out or doing other things because I have never seen it before.
Eating: Everything. Ha! I try to stay as healthy as I can during the week. I eat cheerios and a piece of fruit for breakfast most mornings, pack my lunches for work Monday-Thursday and for dinners we do salads two nights every week and then another healthy option the other three nights. Usually one of those three nights is grilled meat of some kind and we have been having a lot of taco bowls lately sans shell. My lunch this week is Spicy Thai Noodles, I think I will share the recipe next Tuesday!
Working Out: Last week I had a bad week. I was in some major pain and I had a lot of other things going on, so my workouts were basically non-existent. I haven’t not worked out for more than a few days in years. It was weird. I was back at it this Monday and have renewed energy. While my work outs look very different from pre-pregnancy….I am still getting them in! I walk on the treadmill 2 to 3 days per week, still keep up with my arm routine with less weight and I have incorporated 6 or 7 different pregnancy workouts in between.
Crafting: Pinterest and Etsy are dangerous places when you are pregnant. VERY DANGEROUS!!! I have found a few craft projects that I want to tackle for the nursery because I am cheap and refuse to overpay on Etsy. These are a few of the things I am looking at…
Excited:To make some more progress in the nursery. I have some most stuff cleared out and plans for someone in need to pick up the bed that we have in there. Laura has so graciously offered to come over and have a paint party with me when we get it cleared out!
Also, August is my birthday month! I haven’t even really thought about it until I realized that this is the last week of July. While I don’t really celebrate the whole month, it is fun to think about! August also brings us that much closer to football season!!! I am so ready to fill my Saturdays with football and food. Plus just another month or two of this unbearable heat before it finally starts to cool down around here!!!
What are you up to?

I can’t believe that I hadn’t signed up for Netgalley yet! Just did and am SO excited to get reading!
That feather dream catcher/mobile is so pretty! I’m always so sad when I get denied from netgalley books, haha. I’m interested to hear what people think about that Moriarty book, I feel like I’m one of the few people who hasn’t been crazy about the other ones I’ve read by her.
I just got turned onto NetGalley … & I too got rejected for that book π But I want to go get it – along with Harry Potter’s new book this weekend!!!!!
I bet hormones + Pinterest = DO ALL THE THINGS!!!! π
Adorable crafty type items! You go girl.
Great job on continuing the exercise!
I loved One Tree Hill in the early seasons but I never finished the last two seasons! Hope you enjoy and maybe I will add that to my list for the fall when the hubby is working all the time!
I love that feather dream catcher!! Let me know what you think of BB when you finish it. I didn’t watch it while it was on either. I binged it on Netflix after it was over. OTH is also on my Netflix watchlist because I’ve never seen it.
My birthday is in August too, I can’t wait bc it’s closer to fall and cooler weather!
I can’t wait to hear what you think of the Restaurant Critic’s Wife…the title alone sounds interesting. You can totally make a tassel banner, I did…have the DIY on my blog π I LOVE that feather dream catcher…your vibe sounds beautiful for the nursery!
oooo BB is one of my fav series; such fantastic acting.
go easy on the workouts; as long as you’re moving, that’s all that matters π
I can’t wait for this heat to go away… I’m already thinking ahead to October π
I can’t wait for that spicy Thai noddle recipe! I’m on the hunt for some crafty dinners this week. I need to focus on domestic things- haha. We’ve been out and about all month (literally) so I’m ready to settle in at home with some housework, landscaping, cooking, and reading!
I can’t imagine how fun Pinterest-ing and nursery decorating is!! Yay!!
Look at you! Eating healthy most of the time and still working out?! You have put me to shame π Can’t wait to see what type of crafty things you come up with for the nursery!
I started watching OTH from the beginning once but abandoned it eventually. I was busy or something. But I want to watch it! But I’m still watching Walking Dead when Michael isn’t around…and season 2 of Jane the Virgin is on Netflix…and there are just too many damn shows I want to watch! #firstworldproblems
I was so mad when I got rejected by Netgalley for Moriarty’s new book too, but my mom downloaded it through Audible too, so I’m definitely going to start listening to it on my mini road trip this weekend. I can’t not read a Liane Moriarty book! I’m with you about being ready for football season and cooler weather too! It can’t get here soon enough!
I am also smack dab in the middle of Moriarty’s book and so far NOT so good. I hate the voice of the narrator for some reason. It’s like nails on a chalkboard when she does the neighbor’s voice. Awful.
Those are really cute projects! I’m going to be off work soon so I may get to pinteresting in a little bit. How is One Tree Hill? I’m not sure what I’m in the mood to watch now. Maybe I want a Gilmore Girls type show. I just finished a couple shows and haven’t decided whether or what I want to watch something else.
i officially got the rejected thing from netgalley and it made me so sad. i was also super jealous when i saw you started reading it on goodreads haha. i hope it is good, she has a lot to live up to! i will wait and see what you think.
august is closer to football season, BOO. i can’t wait for football season to be over again. haha. you know what august also brings closer? BABY, hahaha.
I’m busy chasing a puppy and getting ready for the kids to head back to school on Monday! I’m not really watching or reading anything but I am eating all the things! Ha! Those pinterest ideas are adorable – you totally got this!!!!
August is my birthday month too. π
I’ve liked both Liane Moriarty books I’ve read (Big Little Lies and The Husband’s Secret), and I’ll definitely be picking this one up at some point. I have too many other books out from the library and on hold right now, though, so it probably won’t happen for a while. (The wait list for Truly Madly Guilty at my library is also insane, so it’s not like I’d get it anytime soon anyway.)
I still haven’t finished Breaking Bad. My husband and I started it like 3 years ago on Netflix. He finished it, I didn’t. I liked it, but I just forgot a lot of things and didn’t feel like picking back up where we left off. I’ll probably watch it from the beginning at some point, but it’s not a priority for me right now.
I liked One Tree Hill back in the day. I rewatched it a couple of years ago and still liked the first few seasons. Like most teen shows, it kind of sucks and gets dumb near the end. I’d probably rewatch it again, though, so I guess that says something. Haha.
I can’t even imagine using Pinterest and Etsy while pregnant. I’m not even thinking about trying for a baby for at least a couple more years, but I’ve already pretty much decided what I’d want to do for a nursery. That probably sounds weird (especially since there’s no guarantee I’ll actually have a baby), but I have to do things like that sometimes. Too many options can be really bad for me!
Ahhh I recently did a whole marathon of One Tree Hill for the first time and I was absolutely addicted in the first 5 seasons. The last few are a little less awesome but I stuck it out. Hope you’re enjoying!
Good for you for keeping up your workouts as best you can! Exercise has so many mental benefits too it’s just a good idea to stay active throughout pregnancy as long as it’s safe and healthy!
With you on looking forward to some cooler temps. Although I’m sure you’re dealing with much hotter heat than meβbut on the flipside I’ll have more snow/cold to bitch about in a few months!
Since I am the WORST with watching tv series, but I know there have been some good ones that I missed, that is one of my goals on my 50 Before 50 project…is to watch a series. Breaking Bad and Sons of Anarchy are the two that I’m most interested in.
Ah! Such cute inspiration pins! Especially that feather mobile! Love it!
I hope you love One Tree Hill! I watched it all for the first time last year and loved it! Well, actually it took me a minute to get into it, but once I did, I was hooked. In later seasons of the show things got so ridiculous, but I couldn’t stop watching because I just had to know what would happen! π
Those tissue garlands are easy to make, so glad to hear you’re tackling those. All cute things you shared!! Girl idk how you do those salads! I get bored with them and have never finished one.
Laura & Nadine craft and paint days make for excellent weekend activities!!! And good for you for eating healthy for dinners and what not, because we know Friday lunches are the time for garbage eating.
It took me until chapter 25 to get hooked. Before that I was struggling to tolerate these vapid characters. Like are these really supposed to be normal people? Who is actually so narcissistic and self-absorbed? Apparently no one that I would hang out with.
Ooh that feather mobile looks amazing!! I heard good things about Truly Madly Guilty so I’ve added it to my list…now to finish reading the 193832 other books on my list. Lol.
A thank you to you (and Reese Witherspoon). You both posted about Liane’s new book, otherwise I would have had no idea. It’s in my library queue now!!
