Happy October! My goodness, I cannot believe it is October 1?!?! I also cant believe how dark it is getting so early in the evening. Why is it that this is a huge surprise to me every year? In the spring I will be surprised how long day light lasts, go figure.
The last prompt for Blogtember was yesterday. I never got around to posting because it required me to dig in boxes. Ain’t nobody got time for digging on a Monday! I certainly didn’t want to miss out on the post topic though because I have so many things I want to share it was hard to pick one.
The topic: Share a photo of something old. Maybe something that has a personal history for you, that was passed down to you and has special meaning to you. Tell us about why it is special.
When I was in high school, we lived in Atlanta. Every month on a certain weekend, there would be a HUGE antique show downtown. One weekend my parents thought it would be fun for us to go and check it out. We weren’t really sure what to expect to find at it, but it was something to do.
Upon arrival I was mesmerized by all the different items they had! Sure, there were lots of booths with things you would expect to see at an antique show. Furniture, jewelry, clothing, war memorabilia, etc. What was I interested in you ask? The toys that were popular when I grew up! We were closing in on the 20 year anniversary of many of the toys and shows that were near and dear to my heart. Most specifically the Care Bears!!!

Love them!
I’m so jealous of your care bear glasses! And your Popples glasses… and all your glasses. I saw a single popples glass at a flea market the other day and I wish I would have picked it up. We do have a collection of the old Smurf glasses, my husband got them from his grandmother after she passed. They’re pretty special to us too because of the nostalgia. We have them in a glass display cabinet in our videogame room 🙂
Those are awesome! And are you talking about the Garfield glass mugs that were free at McDonald’s or somewhere in the 80s? Because I totally had those and forgot about them until I was at a resale store a few weeks ago and I saw a set of four. I ALMOST bought them but my husband is anti-clutter and I had no need for them and I instantly regretted it. But if you have them then I am happy knowing that a set exists and is in a loving home!
oh my goodness, I haven’t thought about the care bears in forever. Ahh, childhood. Such a fabulous post, love. If you get a second, I’d love to hear your thoughts on my latest outfit. 🙂
