Is it just me, or is there a serious case of the funk going around? I don’t know what has gotten me in to this funk, but I let it simmer for a few days and now it needs to go! There are several things that always put me in a better mood, and these are the steps that I take to get out of the funk.
1. Snuggle a Puggle (or any dog) – My dogs instantly make me feel better no matter what happened in my day. They are always excited to see me, they give lots of kisses and their snuggles are the best snuggles.
2. Quotes that inspire – It might sound cheesy, but sometimes you just need some wise words to set your mind straight.
3. Treat Yo’Self – A little pampering just for you can often do a trick. Take a bubble bath, paint your nails, try a new face mask.
4. Exercise – Sometimes a good walk/run to clear your mind or kick boxing to literally beat your stress’s ass! You know..endorphins and shit…they make you happy.
5. Get lost in a book – Nothing like letting your mind wander through a fictional universe in a great story!
6. Watch you favorite TV show – Especially if it is a funny one, you could use a little funny!
7. Retail Therapy – Shopping always makes me feel better. Always.
8. Clean – Taking it out on the kitchen counters, the closet, the living floors, that bathtub…sometimes it helps!
9. Channel those feelings – Take your negative thoughts and feelings and channel them in to something productive. Crafts, start a new project, tackle something you have been meaning to get done, re-work your web design, etc.
10. Write down the positive – Sure, you could sit there and focus on the things that aren’t your jam right now….but you know you have a lot of good things going for you! Write them down and cultivate positive thoughts.
